The Wrong Turn
By: Heidi Brown
On her way to Austin Texas, Spencer suddenly took a wrong turn. She was lost and didn’t have any signal on her cell phone. The twenty-one year old was scared and lonely. She ended up in the dark woods by a mysterious sign that said, “turn around and don’t come back.” Spencer immediately got in her car and tried to turn on the engine, but it wouldn’t start. She had never been so scared in her entire life. Spencer heard a loud ‘BEEP BEEP BEEP’ sound, as it got louder and louder the car soon approached her and came to a sudden stop. She looked and seen that it was a younger man who was about her age. She thought of him being pretty attractive, but wasn’t interested.
“What are you doing out here on a dark and stormy night like this?” asked the young man.
“I’m lost, can you help me out by any chance?” asked Spencer.
“No problem ma’am, I’ll take you to the nearest gas station so you can use a pay phone.”
Spencer had no other choice but to go with him. The man was very strange and pretty creepy. The entire car ride was completely silent, they didn’t say one word to each other. A little while longer, which seemed to be forever; they pulled into a long driveway.
Spencer asked curiously, “Where are you taking me? I demand you tell me right this instance.”
He said nothing.
They finally reach the end of the driveway. Spencer finds herself looking at a old, creepy mansion with huge weeping willow trees surrounding the house. As the truck came to a complete stop, she tried to get out of the truck, but the doors were locked and she soon realized that she was trapped. As the man got out he ran to the other side and let Spencer out, as he tried to grab her arm she slid through his arms and fought to get free. As she became free of him Spencer darted into the dark and foggy woods. He ran after her, and no one ever heard of Spencer or the young man again.
