chapter 2 suspicion

 Today started like any other, i got up got ready for school, but I didn't eat today, I only have to eat once every three days. While I was waiting for isabella, i watched the news.

"another string of weird murders today in district 4, the authorities said they will have an answer by friday at the least-"

"Hhmm i wonder if they will actually ever catch who is doing it?" Isabella said as she walked in, ready for breakfast.

" I doubt it, unless they frame someone, or actually expose the DMI"

The DMI stands for demi members incorporated. They are the branch of private government that deals with demis, and demi crimes.

I was waiting in the kitchen while playing with isabella's little sister abby, she is paralyzed from the waist down, but she is still as energetic as ever.

" hey rin! Can you come help me reach my baby doll? Zach was being mean and put it on the top shelf!"

Zach was isabella's older brother, he is 19, im 18, isabella is 17, and abby is 9.

Zach is almost never home, he is always at work, or out with friends.

"Yeah show me were he put it, next time tell me and i'll beat him up!"

"Thanks rin!"

I was adopted into the family when I was ten, and Isabella was nine, two months after I was taken in, abby was born.

After i got her doll off the shelf for her i went back to the kitchen.

Then I heard a knock at the door.

"Coming!"

Julia yelled, rushing towards the door.

When she opened it we saw two DMI agents.

"We are here for business today ms.vanet. Regarding your demi. Who is his master?"

"I am." isabella said from the corner of the room.

"Alright, well let's get started, may we come in?"

"Yes come in, would you like some tea?"

"So what we are here for today, with the string of murders, we have to issue this to all demis."

He held out a collar, it looked like a shock collar.

"As you know, demis for now have the same rights as humans, but they are much stronger. So for the time being, we will have these issued out so if we find out who is committing the murders, so we can apprehend them."

"But wait why are all demis getting collars? I thought it was a snake demi?"

" honestly ma'am, i don't know why, these are just our orders."

Even though they are government agents, the DMI agents were always very polite and nice.

"But don't worry, they are customizable, you draw out what you want, and we will have it by the end of the day, you need to wear them to school friday. "

When he said that I got a bad feeling. Something might happen friday, but i will also know all the other demis in the school.

"Okay thank you, but rin and i have to leave for school now."

"Okay, rin, can you draw what you want you collar to look like before you leave?"

"Yes I can"

I decided since im sort of a metal head, i would go with what suits what i wear, a spiked collar. Mainly because i already wear spiked bracelets. I handed the DMI agent the paper, and they left.
