Kion walks past the sparring area after his patrol that morning. It was a peaceful day and that's how he liked it. There was barely a cloud in the sky and the herds were grazing quietly. He spots Nyota sparring with Moyo in the ring. Kion was so proud at how far Nyota had come but he was worried. Worried about the Outlanders. They were planning something, he knew that much. Nyota was a strong and fearless leader. She could take care of herself and he trusted that she will be a legendary leader just like him. She might even be better.

"Dad!" yells a voice.

Kion smiles when he recognises the voice as Siku's.

"Hello Siku. What's up?" Kion asks.

Cutting straight to the point, Siku answers "Don't you think it's about time we try making peace with the hyenas? This war has lasted generations and they have suffered living in the Outlands long enough. We should try to-"

"Siku," Kion starts, his voice stern and almost cold, "You have a big heart when it comes to looking out for others and it's admirable that you think about the Outlanders but we have given them far too many chances. They keep taking advantage of what's been given to them. They take and take until there is nothing left. We can't choose how they live so it's better that they stay on their side of the border".

"Maybe we haven't tried hard enough! They only keep coming here so they can survive. We can make a difference without the power of the roar or bloodshed for once. Think of how much we can benefit from each other!" Siku argues, almost yelling.

Kion sighs, "War is in their blood. Hate is what keeps them fighting. Greed is what gives them strength. They practically breathe chaos. We can't change that. They can and they won't. The Outlanders are our enemies and that's how it will always be. You don't have the power to change that".

"You do. You have the roar. Aunty Kiara and uncle Kovu can, they're the king and queen. And so does Nyota. I could make a difference if you just let me talk to them!"

"Enough Siku! You can't change their minds and we will not risk the entire Pridelands at a chance of peace! You weren't here when Scar was king. I don't expect you to understand the chaos they're capable of but they are our enemy. They always will be," Kion growls.

Siku turns around, about to run off, "Maybe you don't know them well enough to know their side of the story".

He runs, leaving a cloud of dust behind. Kion sighs. He shouldn't have yelled at him like. Siku was a good kid with a big heart but he needs to understand that the Outlanders are the enemy. Kion takes one last look at Nyota and Moyo. They fight as if their lives depend on it, being careful not to injure each other.

"At least they understand that we can't trust the hyenas," Kion mutters as he leaves.

Nyota growls as she tackles Moyo to the ground and he grunts loudly. He landed arms and legs sprawled out across the ground and Nyota pins him by standing on them.

"You win," Moyo rasps.

Nyota quickly gets off him and helps him to his feet, "Sorry about that".

"Let me guess, my idiotic brother said something annoying to you?" Moyo asks, shaking the dust of his peachy coloured fur.

"Yep. I hate him sometimes," Nyota replies with a slight groan, "Thanks for the spar. Anything I can do to make up for the roughness?"

"No, it's ok. It will always be rough when we take the rest of your parent's responsibilities".

"True," Nyota says simply.

"Although, if you really want to make it up to me, do you want to maybe go for a walk with me tonight?" Moyo asks.
