"anong ibig mong sabihin na hindi sila kasal?" Elle asked, looking at cj.
"hindi sila kasal, ni hindi nga nakapag propose si brent kay grace." cj said, kumunot ang noo ni elle
"then why? Bakit hindi kami pwede?" elle asked cj, nanlambot ang puso ni cj sa pagtanong ni elle, he sees someone who just wants to love.
"mahirap kalaban ang nakaraan elle, mahirap magmahal ng taong may multo ng kahapon, may grace si brent, may basti si brent, do you really want to squeeze into his heart?" cj said, elle frowned "I am not saving Brent elle, I am saving you." and with that, cj went inside his car.
"ingat ka grazielle." Cj offered a smile and drove away.
Naglakad si elle papunta dorm niya, it was close to starbucks. But she can't sleep no matter how hard she tries and it wasn't doing anything well para sa mental health niya. So she decided to go to brent, kahit sa huling pagkakataon lang.
And here she was knocking on his door at almost 1:00 in the morning, looking like shit.
"di mo ko matiis." brent joked, but his eyes were swollen, his voice scratchy.
Elle pouted and nodded, brent opened his arms and hugged her tight.
"Cj talked to you?" brent asked, elle was on top of him, he was playing with hair, tumango si elle.
"brent, ano ba yung pinapasok ko? kabit ba ako?" elle asked, straight forward, umiling si brent. "Kasi sabi nila may grace pa, eh wala naman lagi si grace, nasa abroad ba siya?" She asked, umiling si brent.
"nasa puso ko siya." he said, tumango si elle, not saying anything else, nilalasap nalang niya ang pagkakataong ito.
"si grace one of a kind, mahal ko si grace." sabi ni brent, pumikit lang si elle, nodding as she can't do anything about it. "Sa 1 year and 4 months na nakasama ko si grace it was the best year of my life, I had her, we had basti, I stopped basketball because family comes first. I wanted to marry her even if people always tells her na nabuntis ko lang siya and hindi ko siya papakasalan, but I wanted to marry her not to prove them wrong but because I knew that I love her so much, but I never had the chance to, I asked her one night, she laughed at me and told me na I should ask her kinabukasan."
"She said no? And then she left you and basti?" elle asked, umiling si brent at ngumiti,
"That morning, I woke up early to prepare a breakfast in bed, seven months pa lang si basti nun, I asked my mom to help me cook breakfast for grace, yinakap ako ng mommy ko tapos sabi niya binata na raw talaga ako parang dati daw sinamahan niya lang ako magpatuli, usual na sentiments ng nanay" brent said, a sad smile on his lips. "Umakyat ako, I sat beside grace and triny ko siyang gisingin."
"And?" Elle asked biting her lip, afraid of what brent will tell next.
"I never got the chance to ask her to marry me, she never got the chance to answer because she didn't wake up that morning."
