"That was the best concert I've been to in all my life. The way those children danced for their age!" I shrieked excitedly.
"I am glad you liked it." Caspian said sincerely.
A time-consuming silence fell upon us where Caspian and I walked on to the hostels. It was not an uncomfortable silence, but rather a relaxing one, one where we were communicating with each other without using words.
"Caspian?" I asked softly.
"Yeah?" He answered.
"Thank you. You gave me back my childhood." I whispered.
"It is always my pleasure, Becca." He smiled.
We came to a stop on the courtyard in front of the hostels. I turned towards him. The moonlight threw pale shadows over his face. I stepped forward and closed the space between us. He stared into my eyes and it felt as if he was looking into my soul.
"I love you, Rebecca." Caspian said lovingly as he cupped my cheek.
I leaned into his hand and closed my eyes, "I love you too, Caspian."
He gripped my waist and pulled me closer to his body. His hand was rested on the small of my back while the other one still held my cheek. He leaned in and gave me a passionate kiss which took my breath away completely.
I did not want the kiss to end. The whole earth melted away when I was in his arms and when his lips were pressed against mine.
"You should probably get back to your hostel." Caspian said to me as he pulled away from me.
"You too. If Mr O'Donald does some inspecting and find you missing, you will never hear the end of it." I chuckled softly.
He placed a lingering kiss on my temple before we parted ways and went our separate directions.**********
"Rebecca! Becca, wake up." Lisa shook me awake.
"What are you on about?" I groaned and pulled the covers over my head.
"We are going to the museum with the rest of the class," She said knowingly and pulled the cover off, "You have 15 minutes to get ready."
I groaned internally and climbed out of the bed and walked to the bathroom down the hall. I had to wait in a line, because a few girls were waiting to shower.
After I took a quick shower, I trotted back to our room and got dressed in a short, with a pink shirt and matching sandles. I pulled my hair into a messy bun and grabbed my phone and my purse.**********
After we visited the museum, the tour guide allowed us to roam the city freely. Lisa and I went to a nearby restaurant that recently opened: Bon Appetite Palacé.
Lisa and I ordered a take-away smoothie and we walked around the city, window-shopping, until Lisa tapped me on my arm.
"Don't look now, but little miss perfect and your boyfriend at 1 o'clock." She said sarcastically.
I turned abruptly and my eyes met Caspian's with Meghan clinging to his arm. He quickly pulled his arm away from Meghan and speedily walked in the opposite direction.
Lisa grabbed hold of my arm, "Becca?" She asked uncertainly.
"I... need to get back to the hostels." I pulled away from Lisa and ran in the direction of the hostels.**********
"What? You broke up with him?" Lisa shrieked when we got back from the tour and I told her about me and Caspian.
"I am so tired of fighting for him and he doesn't fight back." I sighed as we walked to our table in the cafeteria.
I walked into someone and bumped my head against his chest. I stepped back and rubbed my forehead.
"Caspian?" I gasped.
"Can we talk?" He asked softly.
I nodded and we walked outside to the yard in front of the office. I turned to him and folded my arms.
"I need you to listen to me. I have to explain. She's been there for me when I needed someone-" He started.
"Just stop. Stop right there. If you have to choose between me and her, choose her, because if you really loved me, there wouldn't be any other choice." I cut him off.
I stared at him intensely, but after he stayed silent for quite awhile, I stalked away from him into the school. I saw Meghan trotting towards me.
"How does it feel to be, mmmm, how can I put it, Caspian-less?" She chuckled menacingly.
"Meghan, do me a favour. Shut up. Then keep shutting up. Keep shutting up until you get to a gate with a sign saying: "You can't shut up past here." Climb over the gate, dream the impossible dream, and keep shutting up forever." I snapped at her.
She gaped at me and stormed off after I gave her a death glare. Was my life really going to be like this? Was this what I was destined for? To get hurt... Not just once, but a million times.
