"Nope. No. Definitely not." I shook my head vigorously when Lisa stepped out of the dressing room. She was wearing a strapless, black lace dress. More like 'lingerie' if you asked me.
"Why not?" Lisa whined and stared at her reflection in the mirror.
"Firstly, it is way too short. Your butt is literally on show. Secondly, it looks more like lingerie than a dress. I am sure Terry would absolutely love it, but he won't love it so much when it attracts attention from the other guys at the party." I pointed it out.
Lisa huffed and entered the dressing room again. When she came out the next time, I clasped my hands over my mouth. She looked beautiful.
It was a gold, strapless dress that hugged all her curves at the right places. It was the perfect length, ending just above her knees.
"Tell me you like this one? It's my last choice." Lisa whined.
"I love it!" I exclaimed.
Lisa smiled and we bought the dress and a matching pair of heels. We strolled around the mall, when we walked past a shop. I stopped in front of the shop, staring at a dress that caught my attention.
It was a dark red dress. It had triangular cuts at either side to expose the skin by your hips. The back had a low V-line, exposing most of your upper back.
"Come on, go try it on." Lisa pushed me into the shop and demanded the assistant to hand us the red dress in the window. Lisa shoved me into the dressing room. I slipped into the silky dress. It fitted me like a glove an lined up all my curves. Perhaps going to the party wouldn't be so bad after all.
I bought the dress and Lisa and I headed to her house to get ready for the party. Luckily, I had a pair of contact lenses with me, so I wouldn't be needing my glasses.
Lisa did my make-up; a light, very feminine look. She curled my hair and pinned it down above my head, and pulled some strands out to hang in front of my face.
"You look beautiful." She exclaimed and clapped her hands together excitedly. I slipped into a pair of matching red heels to finish the look.
Lisa and I looked like Victoria's secret models. Lisa with her flawless skin and beautiful blonde hair and me with my angelic white skin and long brown hair.
Someone hooted outside. "That must be Terry. He came to pick us up."
Lisa and I grabbed our stuff before we descended down the stairs in a haste.
"You two look stunning. Perhaps I should skip the drinking and pose as your bodyguards." Terry joked and opened the car doors for us.
"Can't stand seeing me with other guys?" Lisa teased, but Terry silenced her with a kiss.
"You are mine and all mine Lisa McCarthy."
After a forty five minute drive, Terry parked in front of a huge, very modern, house. I never knew that Landile lived in such luxury.
We took a flight of stairs up to the front door, excitement flashed in my blue eyes. What if Caspian came too? I thrusted the thought aside and followed Terry and Lisa through the house to the backyard.
Teenagers were swaying to the music and grinding against one another. I knew I shouldn't have come; it wasn't really my scene. Still, I've been sulking too long. I desperately needed to let my hair down and have some fun. Terry handed me a red cup. I brought the cup to my lips and took a big gulp. My throat burned as the liquid went down my throat.
"What is this?" I asked hoarsely.
"Vodka." Terry answered casually.
My gaze moved between Terry and the cup. I shrugged my shoulders and took another big gulp.
The people seemed to enjoy themselves, and to be honest, I did too. I was drinking cup after cup and swayed to the music.
Two hands grabbed my hips and grinded against me. I spun around in fright and looked into a pair of blood shot eyes. The guy, whoever he was, was grinning at me and it made me shudder. I tried to side-step him, but he pushed me into the wall and trailed his lips down my collarbone.
It was horrible. His hands trailed down to my thighs and he squeezed them as he breathed into the crook of my neck.
I was frightened to death, to say the least. My blood was cold in my veins and I was sobbing, even though no one would here me over the deafening sound of the music.
The man fell to the floor with a bloody nose. He was unconscious. I looked up and saw a pair of familiar eyes.
"Caspian?" I managed to get out between my tears.
He grabbed my face and slammed his lips against mine. I snaked my arms around his neck and deepened the kiss. The kiss was salty, because of my tears, yet it was exactly what I needed. The kiss went on for nearly ten whole minutes until we were both breathless from the kiss.
"What are you doing here?" Caspian asked me.
"I came with Lisa and Terry. They invited me. What are you doing here?" I returned the question.
"Landile privately invited me. I only got here ten minutes ago when I saw you pinned against the wall. Do you want to get out of here?" He asked.
I nodded and he gently grabbed my wrist and led me towards the front door. We drove to a secluded beach and laid on the hood of his car, stargazing.
"Why did you save me?" I whispered.
"I couldn't stand by and watch how he hurt the girl I love. You might not believe me, Becca, but I thought about you everyday since we fought."
I turned my head to the side and admired his strong jaws and defined cheekbones.
"Did you now?" I smiled with giddiness.
"I did." He admitted truthfully.
I intertwined our fingers and laid my head on his chest. Not all fairytales have happy endings, but I believe mine will.
