"Tell Caspian I want to see him." I told my mother when she was about to exit the ward.
I waited for a brief moment before a restless and slightly disorientated Caspian stalked into the ward, walking towards the side of the hospital bed.
"You look awful." I joked to lift the tension.
"You should see yourself." Caspian chuckled heartily and swooped down, placing a kiss on my chapped lips.
"Why did you save me? You could've died." He asked me, brushing his thumb across my cheek.
"I would be safe in the knowledge that you would live. I couldn't bare the thought of letting you die in front of me. It made me recall the accident with my father. I saw him, you know. He talked to me, telling me to stay strong and to fight. To fight as hard as I could, because my life was not over yet. He encouraged me to live." I wiped a tear from my eye.
"I am glad he did, because when I heard you flatlined my world came crashing down." Caspian's eyes were glistening with tears.
"How are you feeling?" I asked and examined him.
"Only a few scrapes. It would've been worse if you haven't sheltered me." He sat down at the edge of the bed.
I coughed a bit and held onto my stomach, because it hurt. Caspian stood up and placed a loving kiss on my forehead.
"You get some rest. I will be outside." He smiled and placed a kiss on my knuckles before he left the room.

6 weeks later
"Come on. We're signing you out today." Caspian entered the ward.
"Your mother is outside signing the papers." Caspian smiled and helped me out of the hospital bed. He helped me pack my stuff and carry them to the car.
"Where are we going?" I asked from the backseat.
"To my house." Caspian replied.
I leaned back against the seat and stared out of the window at the passing scenery.
We stopped in front of Caspian's house and we walked up to the front door. He opened the door for me and I stepped in."SURPRISE!"
I stopped in my tracks and clasped my hands over my mouth. Before me stood Mr Carter, Celeste, Terry and Lisa.
"I'm so glad you're home." Lisa pulled me into a hug.
"Welcome home." Terry hugged me.
"Glad to see you've fully recovered." Celeste came forward to hug me.
"Glad to see you in one piece." Mr Carter came forward. I smiled and hugged him.
"So, who's up for a barbecue?" He asked.
We all chuckled and followed him outside.
It was a clear open sky outside and the smell of new life was in the air. Everything seemed perfect. Just like it should be.
Caspian's arm snaked around my waist and he pulled me closer to him.
"It's you and me forever." He placed a kiss on my forehead and led me towards the picnic table.
