Isabelle's point of view
I don't understand her! Why would she want to help him after what he did to her?! He keeps us as his prisoners and she treats him like a defenseless animal!
I sigh and bite my nails. My feet walk me back and forth in front of the blazing fire as I wait anxiously for Lucinda's return.
She has always been one to help those in need. I can't remember the last time she gave in to her own desires. But she has been through so much these past few days... doesn't she see she needs to rest?!
"Sh!" A voice whispers. "The mademoiselle will wake because of you!" I drop my hand and turn to the door.
"You assume she is asleep?! That girl is probably wide awake, pacing about and worrying for her sister!" A more feminine voice hisses back.
I glance at the small clock hanging on the wall.
It has been two hours since Lucinda and Mrs. Thompson have left...
I walk to the door and carefully press my ear against the wood.
"Which one of us should tell her? I mean... should we tell her? How will the mademoiselle react?!" The masculine voice groaned. "What if... what if she reacts badly?! Oh! What if she storms into the west wing and only makes the master angrier!"
"Shut it!" The woman voice whisper-screamed. "We are going to tell her, whether you like it or not, because Lucinda is her sister and she has a right to know that something happened-."
"What happened to my sister?!" I ask and open the doors, causing for the two silver servants to jump. My eyes widen as I stare at Domain and Mrs. Thompson.
Both of their eyes stared off, glancing at me before going back to the floor or painting on the walls.
"Please, tell me. What is wrong with my sister?" I ask and step more into the hall and close the door behind me.
"Nothing, sweet thing!" Mrs. Thompson smiled nervously and takes my hands into her shaking ones. I glance at her hands, they cradled mine ever so delicately, her thumb rubbing small circles into my palms.
I wince.
Lucinda always held me when I was upset.
"Nothing yet, that is." Domain barely whispers out loud, yet I heard it.
"Yet?!" I shriek and pull my hands away from the woman's motherly touch. "What do you mean nothing yet?! What is going to happen to Lucinda?!" I shout.
Mrs. Thompson's eyes soften as her hands reached out for me. "Oh, gentle lamb, nothing bad is going to happen to Lucinda."
My heart shatters as I hear a long scream echo off the castle's walls. Both of the servant's eyes widen as we turn to the way of the west wing.
"Lucinda!" I scream and pick up my skirts to rush to her side.
"Isabelle, wait!" Domain shouts and grabs me. I hit his chest and kick my legs, trying to force him to let me go. "You can't. You can't go to her." He said, his arms pull me hard against his chest.
"Why not?!" I scream back and slap at his arms that hold tightly around my waist. "I need to help her! I need to help Lucinda!" I shout as I felt my eyes begin to burn.
I squeeze my eyes shut. No, I can't be weak. Not now, not when she needs me! I shout and struggle, Lucinda's screaming of pain going on and off.
I can't just wait here and do nothing!
"Please! Please, let me go to her! Let me help her!" I beg, my knees shaking beneath me. I fall against Domain's chest and sob into his shirt. "Oh, please let her be okay... let her be all right!" I beg him and grab his shoulders.
