3rd point of view,
The beast stared down at Lucinda, his nose flared as if trying to catch the intruder's scent. "You're alone?" He asked again, his voice was lower than usual. Yet his eyes stayed the same, flickering back and forth from having control to no control.
Lucinda hid her shaking hands in the large blanket, she hesitated before slowing nodding her head to the beast.
Lucinda watched as he closed his eyes and took a deep breath, the blue in his eyes stayed once he opened them. "You... you're sure?" He asked, his claws slowly coming off the wood.
"Yes, Theodred," Beast froze. Lucinda licked her dry lips. "I was alone."
Theodred quietly sighed-as if in relief. This confused Lucinda. The witch said the beast was using me so he could break the curse.... what did she mean by that?
The beast took a step away from the bed, away from her. "Lucinda," he growled as his hands clasp together behind his back. "We need to talk."
Uh oh. Lucinda's grip tighten on the blanket. Nothing good ever follows that sentence.
"Whatever for?" She asked and leaned back against the pile of pillows.
He sighed. "For a start, how.... how do you know that name?" He couldn't meet her eyes, he wouldn't. The beast had something on his mind that he wasn't telling. But to be fair, Lucinda had her secrets as well.
"I read it from a book we've found in your study." She said, she knew it was best not to lie to the beast. And yet she lied for the woman, well... witch.
The beast growled. "We?" Thoughts and accusations went through the beast's mind. We, we? Who was this we?! What if it was her? It had been years since he had seen her. But last night.... he could have sworn that she was there. He could sense her, he could even smell her. He could still smell her, her foul scent drowning his nose.
"Jonas and I," Lucinda specified, the beast could feel himself relax. But only a little.
"Why do you call me that name?" He took another step back and began to pace. Lucinda held back a giggle as she caught sight of his tail flicked back and forth behind him.
She shrugged. "Jonas showed me your picture," the beast stopped. "You were human once, you had a real name once, so why wouldn't you want me to call you that?"
His lip curled with a snarl. "That was a very long time ago." He glared at the broken mirror, his reflection glared back. His eyes widen as he stared into the glass, a woman he recognized all too well looked back.
The enchantress grinned devilishly in the mirror, her eyes flickering between him and the unaware girl on the bed.
Oh no.
