Divergent: The Flip Side

Chapter 9

Tris POV:

I hear the snap of a camera and a muffled laughter, and instantly spin around, forgetting that Four is holding me and almost making him drop me! He catches me and lifts me to my feet. I look around and instantly feel extremely embarrassed! The whole group is stood there amused and Shauna has her phone in hand, so that's where the camera noise came from!

"We were wondering if you were ok!" Marlene exclaims.

"Yeah, you had been up there for hours!" Uriah exaggerates. I look at the time and notice that it has actually been half an hour!

"Looks like you had a bit too much fun!" Zeke teases. Everyone laughs except for Eric who is staring at the ground, looking uncomfortable.

"So what did you two get up to then?" Christina asks with raised eyebrows. We shrug looking uncomfortable and the girls laugh.

Four begins to push his way out of the room followed by me. As we are walking out of the room, I grab his hand and he grins at me. His smile is so perfect!

We all walk downstairs, with Uriah giving us some wolf whistles along the way. Eric looks at our hands and up at me, so I shuffle in closer to Four's side. I can see the annoyance and hurt in Eric's face when he says, "I'm going now, bye!" Then runs out. Christina raises her eyebrows at me and Shauna smirks at me... I guess they caught on too!

We return to the lounge and I discover that while Four and I were gone, Zeke and Shauna had spent 7 minutes in heaven and Uriah and Marlene had pulled! It's almost as if fate has split us into couples, well, apart from Peter of course!

Peter offers to go and get us all drinks, that's surprisingly nice for him! While he's gone, Christina and Will go from whispering to each other, to a full snogging session!

Peter returns with a tray if drinks and drops them instantly when he sees them snogging! We all burst out laughing and Peter goes bright red.

Quickly, Peter comes up with an excuse, "Erm... my parents will be home soon, so you all best be off now!"

We leave giggling at Peter and return to the cars.

Everyone piles into Zekes car, to return to the mall to collect their own cars, but Four says he walked and I came in my car too, so I offer to go home with him instead of back to the mall!

He is directing me to his house and I realise that I am just going home, he must live near me! We arrive on my road and just as we get to my house he says stop.

I look at him confused and he explains, "I live opposite you Tris, I have and will always be in love with you and I will never get tired of seeing you run out of your house in the mornings, every day, you always look so beautiful!"

I feel tears come to my eyes, no one has said something that nice to me before! I grab his face in my hands, and kiss him with all of my heart, pausing only to whisper, "I love you Four!"
