“I can’t fucking believe you!” Owen had his fists clenched at his sides, and his face was red with barely contained rage.

“O-Owen…” Connor looked shocked, terrified, and sad all at the same time.

“We’re supposed to be brothers, and you do this to me?” Owen lost some of his rage and it was replaced with sadness.

“You have to understand, I couldn’t tell you. I wasn’t ready.” Connor looked ashamed. Nolan went to his side and held his hand. I moved towards Owen, but he put up his hand to stop me.

“But you could tell some girl you just met?” Owen looked outraged again, and I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t say that his words hurt.

“Owen...” I tried to get his attention. It worked, but I wish it hadn’t.

“Just shut up! I came here to tell you that I wanted to help you convince your parents to let you come back to school, because I know that’s what you want. But, now I can’t even fucking look at you. I can’t look at any of you.” Owen made a move to leave.

“Owen, stop. You can’t leave like this.” Nolan tried to poke the bear.

“Fuck you! This is all your fault.” Owen accused Nolan. Connor stepped protectively in front of him.

“There has to be something we can do to make this better.” I spoke up again.

“How about you all just act like we never met, that’ll make my life so much better.” With that, Owen stormed out.

We stood in the exact same places in complete silence for a few moments. We were all stunned and hurt.

“He’s an asshole.” Connor ran a hand through his hair and sighed.

“He’s hurt. His best friend/brother kept this huge secret from him.” Nolan whispered. I felt a pain go through my chest. I have a life-changing secret that I’m keeping hidden from all of them.

“Look, guys I have to tel-“ I was interrupted by Owen rushing back into the room.

“I’m sorry, Connor, but you hid the real you from me for years. I just... I hate you. I hate you so much.” Owen looked heart broken and it was obvious he was holding back tears.

“It’s not that big of a deal…” Connor mumbled.

“It is. We’re twins, and I have always felt like we were connected. We were one and knew everything about each other. Now, it’s like I don’t even know you. My brother is gone.”

“I’m still the same me. Just replace the word straight with the word gay to describe me.”

Owen ran up to Connor like he was going to hug him, but instead punched him in the jaw.

“You’re nowhere near the same Connor I grew up with.”

“What the fuck, dude!” Nolan yelled at Owen and checked Connor’s face for damage.

“He deserves it! I don’t fucking care if he’s gay, but he’s lied to me since he found out. He’s lied to me for years, and he’s trying to down play it.” Owen yelled in anger again.

“He was afraid you wouldn’t understand or accept him!” Nolan yelled back.

“Then he doesn’t know me at all! You know what? I’m out of here.” With that, Owen grabbed my hand and we left.

We were a mess and it definitely wasn’t the time to tell them about my secret. It’d be like adding gasoline to the fire. Maybe one day, I’ll tell them.

It's really short, sorry. Who's side are you on? Owen's or Connor's?
