Eddie
THUMP THUMP THUMP!
"Eddie! Why is your door locked?!"
Richie and I sprang awake while my mom screeched. Both of us completely naked and our legs tangled together in my sheets. Now really wasn't the time to recap. I tossed Richie his boxers and he crept to my closet quickly.
I pulled on my underwear and practically limped to the door, holding my ass, flipped door unlocked, having to step back from the force my mom swung it open at.
"Why was your door locked?" She huffed. My cheeks heated up and I did my big doe eyes.
"Sorry mommy. I didn't mean to," I lied. Her expression seemed to soften and she pressed a kiss on my head.
"Okay honey. Just making sure," She hummed. I gave her a weak smile as she turned around.
"I'm going to bingo, also stop standing like that. Looks like theres something wrong with you." She added. My eyes widened and I forced a smile, shutting the door and leaning on it. I waited until I couldn't hear her footsteps anymore and at that second Richie busted out of my closet in a fit of laughter.
"Shut up! Shut up!" I hissed, throwing his dirty sneaker at him, which he dodged.
His chest was bare and his hair was messy. He looked beautiful.
"She said stop standing like that!" He laughed. I felt anger boil up in me. He found it so funny when I had thought the night before was beautiful even though the thought of Connor kept running through my head. A pit of guilt settled in my stomach.
"You need to go." I deadpanned. Richies laughter stopped abruptly and he looked at me square in the eyes despite not even being able to see.
"What?"
"You have a boyfriend, Richie. What we did last night... it was wrong." I started to grab up his things for him. He rushed over to me and snatched them away, looking frantic.
"No, no. Eddie. What happened last night was amazing. Don't pull this on me now," his voice was shaking. I straightened my back and looked at him. He looked desperate as he dropped his things back onto my floor.
"You don't feel guilty?"
He swallowed, his adams apple bobbing up and down.
"I love you, Eddie."
"Richie don't -"
"I've loved you since we were kids. I'll love you until it doesn't make sense anymore. You're my first choice. You always will be. Don't you... dont you love me back?"
I felt instant pity as I looked up at him.
"Richie..."
"Tell me you love me to, Eddie. Tell me!"
I thought it over, running my eyes over his features. His large crooked nose. His scarred lip. His unkempt scruff on his chin.
"Are you in love with Connor?" I finally asked softly. He hesitated a second before shaking his head.
It felt like I was choking on my own words getting ready to ask what I needed to.
"Are you... are you in love with me?" I asked. A small smile spread on his face before he nodded.
"Are you in love with me?" He asked me. It felt like we got closer and closer but in reality neither of us had moved an inch.
"...Yeah."
He smiled gently and sat on the end of my bed, and I instantly sat next to him, laying my head on his bony shoulder.
"What do we do now?" I asked.
"I don't know."
"What do you want to do?"
"Nothing. I love you, Eddie."
"We aren't good for each other," I whispered.
He turned to look back down at me and smile but I swore I saw tears swelling up in his eyes as he intertwined his fingers with mine.
"I know."
