Her Protectors

Chapter 12

      I made my way to my house with Axel following close behind me. I navigated through the woods expertly until I saw my house in the distance. I started walking towards my house with determination in every step that I took. 'I am going to get answers' I thought to myself.

     I grabbed Axels hand and when my finger tips brushed his I felt electric shocks start to course through my hand. A short gasp slipped through my lips and my eyes shot up to meet Axels. Axel, what is that feeling? Do you feel it too, I asked him. He gave me a soft and warm smile and gave me a nod without using any words. His hands slowly raised from his side and he cupped me cheek soothingly and my breath hitches and the feeling. He looked at me with such longing and I don't know, love? 'Nah it couldn't be that could it?'
Before I could shake the feeling off and all these hectic emotions he took a slow and cautious step towards me as if not to scare me, not once breaking eye contact. Then he leaned down closer towards my face and connected his soft but chapped lips to mine. My eyes closed on contact like it was a natural thing. The feeling was just so...perfect.

     He slowly broke the kids and stood up straight at his normal height looking down at me. I just stood there with my head cocked back looking at the beautiful giant standing in front of me staring into his beautiful eyes lost in a trance. It wasn't until he cleared his throat and gave me a small chuckle. Oh, umm sorry I said quickly averting my gaze. "Was that your first kiss little mate?" He couldn't tell but my face was definitely turning red. I looked up again looking at him. Y-y-yes umm it was, I said hugging myself hoping he doesn't think I'm lame. He gently grabbed my chin and lifted my head up so that I was looking at him. "That was mine too mate, and it was wonderful" I looked at him in disbelief that this was his first kiss before I gently took his giant hands into my small ones and made our way towards home.

     I let go of Axels hand earning a growl from him but I ignored it trying to get into the house and find my mom. MOM! Mom, are you home, I yelled walking throughout the house. Mo- "I'm in here Gray and bring your friend." I was about to ask her how she knew someone was with me but decided to forget it. Cause I mean, everything else is weird anyways. I looked behind me to see that Axel was in wolf form. I walked up to him and started to scratch behind his ear earning a small growl. I don't know his wolfs name 'ferocious' a small voice said. So, ferocious is tour name huh. I kissed his forehead right between his eyes and told him to follow me.

     We went down the hall and through the last door in the left. We walked straight until we reached the set of stairs. I started to walk down before I felt Ferocious bump me with his nose I turned to see him giving me a skeptical look. It's okay I cooed. My mom had this built for protection, kind of like a bunker. I promise I said giving him a soft smiled which earned a wet slobbery lick to my face. Okay, okay wolf I said pushing him off. Let's go.

    When we reached the bottom It was a huge library. We walked towards the back passing the rows of book until we came up on a specific bookshelf. I grabbed the book making the library shelf shift to the side walking into the safe room with Axel by my side. As soon as we made it inside my mom was standing there waiting for us. It was like walking into a mini house inside of a house. We have a kitchen, rooms, a living room, gym,  food supply and well pretty much everything. We walked into the living room and I sat down across from my mom while wolf sat next to my feet.

     "I think it's time for me to tell you what's going on and tell you who you really are."
