"Gray, come down here or you're going to be late for school" my mom yelled from the bottom of the steps. "Be right down mom" I yelled back just so she could hear me. I zipped up my hoody and grabbed my school bag and Volleyball bag. I made my way down the stairs with all of the things I would need for today and headed straight for the kitchen. "Good morning mama" I said while kissing her on the cheek. "Good morning sweetie, do you want a ride to school today" she asked. "No worries mom I'll just walk it won't take me long." My mom looked at me with unshed tears in her eyes. Oh now here we go, "what's wring mom, are you okay?" She looked at me and gave me a soft smile.
" I'm so sorry Gray for everything that I've put you through. I'm always making you move homes, schools, leaving friends" after she said that tears started to cascade down her beautiful face then she held her face in her hands. I made my way towards her and wrapped my hands around her small frame and gave her a big hug. "Mom, you're a great mother, protector, and provider. I know your job requires for you to move and I'll do what I can to make things easier for you and support you no matter what mom, I love you." Her head snapped up and looked me in the eyes "you are the greatest gift the moon goddess has ever given me." I looked at her "Don't you mean God? Who is the moon goddess" I asked. Her eyes widened like she told some secret that she wasn't suppose to tell me. "Oh, nothing I mean God yes, I was just reading a book about umm the moon goddess and umm I guess I accidentally said that, sorry" she laughed. "Well okay mom, I'm going to head to school before I'm late, are you going to be alright?"
"Oh yes Gray I'll be okay please make sure you take your vitamins before you leave" she walked over to the cabinet near the sink and took out my "special vitamins" and handed me two tablets with a cup of orange juice. I took my vitamins and chugged down the rest of the OJ and headed for the door. "Hey mom you're still coming to my game right" I asked. "Of course Gray, I've never missed one and I won't start today. I gave her a small nod and walked out in the crisp morning air.

I shut the door behind me and made my towards the sidewalk, making my way towards school. I can't wait til I'm done with school I thought. I'm already a junior and soon to be senior then I'm out. I'll travel the world and experience new things and I'll take mom with me so she can experience them with me. I'll fall in love once, twice, heck maybe even three times I giggled to myself.
Pulling myself out of my thoughts I started walking along the forest path. I love the forest. The trees, animals, the beauty of it makes me feel at home. It's like an unexplainable feeling. Once i stepped into the Main Street a black car drove passed me but all of a sudden it started to slow down to a stop. I stopped in my tracks feeling like I was all of a sudden being watched. Shaking the strange feeling off I walked passed the stopped car and headed straight for school. But one I made way passed the car the engine roared to life and they started to drive slowly right behind me. "What the actual duck" I whispered to myself.

My moms words rang in my head when I noticed the car was not making any other moves but just slowly following me. I did the most sensible thing that any one would do in this situation and I ran. I ran like my life depended on it. I thought to myself thank god for all those late night training. I looked behind me and noticed that the car started to speed up and was hot on my tail. I cut back through the woods obviously knowing that the car won't be able to come into the forest. I ran behind a tree and ducked down while keeping my eyes on the car that stopped again. Then all of a sudden the car sped off not slowing down to stop.
I waited for a few minutes before I thought it was safe for me to come out from behind a tree and then that's when I heard a twigs snap. "Ugh, great." I turned to take a look around me but I saw nothing I got down in a fighting stance waiting for whatever was out there to come out and pounce. But then I heard my name being called. "Gray, is that you?" I looked and saw my teammate and best friend Rose.
"Rose, what are you doing here?" "I saw your volleyball bag on the side of the road and wanted to make sure you were okay, so, are you alright? What are you doing in the woods anyways?" I looked down and sure enough I didn't have my damn bag. "Thanks Rose yeah I'm okay, it's just I thought someone was following me" she looked me with wide eyes. "Did you get to see how they look like?" "No actually I didn't." I made my towards Rose and we both hopped in her car and started to make our way to school.
Parking into an empty stall we got out and made our way to the front doors. This is my first day at this school with actual students and not just my team. I couldn't stop this damn feeling again, like someone or something was watching me. When I turned around I noticed the same black car that was following to school. "Hey, Rose, do you know whose car is that over there" I pointed out. "Oh yeah that's the Jameson brothers, why what happened?" "Nothing I was just curious" I turned around and started to make my way to the front office to get my schedule.
Finally getting my schedule Rose and I started to compare what we have together. It looks like we have every class together except AP History. Rose was a beautiful girl she was tall and slender but also toned she had sun kissed skin and blue eyes and long blonde hair. Why she wanted to be my best friend was something that I would never understand. We made our way to class which was AP English. As I turned the corner down the hallway I smacked into a damn wall and fell back on my butt. "What the fiddle sticks," who puts a wall there like that. Gray, are you okay?" I opened my eyes and saw feet I thought that was strange but then my eyes started to slowly travel up and then I saw legs and body and then I looked straight into black stormy eyes.
"We're sorry Alphas, my friend Gray is new and she's human, we didn't mean to bump into you all." I looked at Rose confused, Alphas? Human? What? Maybe I'm just hearing things. I didn't even realize I was still on the ground until I saw a giant hand reach down to help me up. I placed my small hand in his and then I felt a strange tingling sensation that went from my hand and just a shot through my entire body making my toes curl. I looked and saw his eyes widen but then went back to a stony blank expression. I brushed it off and that's when I noticed there were three of them. "I'm really sorry I didn't mean to bump into you." They all grunted in response and left.
"Hey Gray, you okay?" I saw the worried expression on my friends face "yeah I'm okay let's get to class." Classes went by as normal we got our Syllabus for every class, I had AP history after English so Rose and I had to part ways but met up after for our Calculus class. Once class was over we made our way to the cafeteria and got in line. When we got our food we found an empty table towards the back and decided to sit there and eat. All of a sudden the hairs on the back of my neck started to stand and I couldn't shake this weird feeling. I turned just for my eyes to collide with the three guys who I bumped into earlier today. They looked at me with stoic expressions and I looked right back not the slightest ashamed. Then I saw one of the guys call a girl onto his lap, she was a beauty, blonde hair and blue eyes skinny compared to my curvy and I couldn't help be feel just, I don't know, sad maybe. "Earth to Gray, what's up?" "Oh sorry I was kind of in a trance." We finished eating and made our way our way to finish up the day. Classes went on as usual and I could not wait for the end of the day cause we have a big opening game today against Galena High. The final bell ring signaling the end of the day.
