Chapter 3

Dinner after the big game:

"Hey Gray good job tonight, you were amazing!" I turned to see amber walking up the bleachers making her towards me and my mother. "Hey Amber thanks you too! Mom this is my teammate and friend Amber, Amber this is my mom Sophia." Amber stuck her hand out to shake my mothers, my mom did the same and shook Ambers hand with a warm smile in her face. "It's lovely to meet a friend of Grays. Would like to come grab some dinner with us Amber" my mother asked. "I would love to Mrs. Stanley if it's not a problem." "Of course not, let's head out."

My mom started to make her down the bleachers and towards the exit doors with me and Amber following from behind. Making our through the maze of the parking lot we got to our car and hopped and started to make our into town to get some food. "Hey baby where's Rose" my mom asked. She said she had to run home early today so she won't be able to join us but she did say next tine for sure I responded. "Okay, no problem" we made our through town to get to Guyu it's a Korean BBQ place that my mother and I fell in love with ever since we moved into town.

"Good evening Gray, hello Mrs. Stanley, your booth is ready" called Mr. Byung-hoon from across the room. We waved and made our way towards the back in the corner to our seats and waited for Mr. B to come over. "How did the game go kiddo did you win and show them what you're all about?" Of course Mr. B you know I don't like to lose haha. "That a girl, hello Amber" "hello Mr. B it's nice to see you again." "You as well, ladies are we doing the usual!" I looked at mom who gave Mr.B a soft smile and nosed yes. Once he left we all started talking animatedly about the game and how Galena was the top school for Volleyball and we just beat them. "The news is going be everywhere. How we just beat them" Amber said.

My mom looked at Amber with a wide eyes like she didn't want the fact that we won making it everywhere. But as fast as that came was as fast as it left. I looked at my mom infused before s dismisses me with the wave of her hand. Once we finished eating Mr.B came around and gave us some desert which was little chocolate mini lava cakes with a scoop of French Vanilla Ice cream. Thanks Me. B this is awesome. "Anything for my favors and best customers."

"Hey Mrs. Stanley where are you guys from?" We live in a pretty small area and I haven't seen Gray at any of the other schools before or social events" Amber asked. My mom looked at Amber with a smile on her face "we're not from one specific place we always move around for my work" my mom responded. "Oh that's cool Mrs. Stanley, where's Mr. Stanley?" I felt my body become stiff when Amber asked that question. 'What the hell is with all these personal questions' I thought. I looked at my mother seeing if she was going to answer and to my surprise she did "He is not in the picture right now" she said said with sorrowful eyes. Amber looked at my mother and was about to say something else when I kicked her under the table and gave her the death glare. She looked at me apologetically and told my mom she was sorry.

Once we were finished we made our way back to our car and was heading out to take Amber home. After that awkward ending during dinner we played some music to ease the tension in the car and started to sing along with the music, my mom included. Once we get down the road all of a sudden gave out. Ugh, of course our stops in the middle of nowhere in the dark. You guys stay in the car while I go check what's going on. "Would you like some help Mrs Stanley."

"No Amber you and Gray stay here and lock the doors I'll go and check what's going on." When she stepped out we heard a string of curse words she was throwing out before we heard a piercing howl echoing through the trees. I looked up to see where it was coming from before I saw a yellow glowing eyes on the left side of the woods and red eyes on the right. I looked to find out where my mom was til I saw her run to the drivers side and jump in locking the doors. " Girls get down and don't move NOW she boomed with so much authority that me and Amber felt ourselves sliding down the back seat out of sight.

"Come on baby, come on start for mama" my mom kept trying to turn over the keys starting he car up so we can get the hell out of there. Mom what the hell is going on and what are those things in the woods I asked but she ignored me. Another bowl piercing through the woods followed by another and another. Amber perked up to look around and turned to the left side staring into the darkness. I pulled her down but before I could my mother looked at Amber through the review mirror and watched her strange behavior. "Amber, who and what are you my mom said with a cold calmness that even freaked me out. "I'm a friend Mrs Stanley really I will never hurt you or Gray. She's my friend." I looked at them confused when all of a sudden shadows started to move towards us with their red eyes both tall and short.

Focusing back on the car my mom started to hit the wheel and cussing at the car to start "you stupid, dumb car you better start right now before I see you for your damn parts" after a few seconds the car came to life and my mom wasted no time throwing the car in drive and hauling ass down the road. Causing me and Amber to fly back into our seats. When I looked up I and turned to face the back window I saw the wolves from the left side and the wolves with the red eyes on the right side start to run towards each other but I also seen three giant men turn to look towards before turning into giant wolves. "What the actual nuggets is going on" I say aloud.

"Amber we're going back to my house so that I can get Gray back home so she can take her medicine. Will your parents mind coming to pick you up" she asked. "Of course Mrs. Stanley, I'll text them now." I looked at my mom while she kept throwing lances back at us in the review nitrile keeping an eye on us but mostly Amber. We raced home coming up the driveway and parking the garage. "Stay in the car until I tell you both to come out do you understand me."

Yes ma'am we both said and stayed in the car. What's going on Amber what did my mom mean by her question. She turned to me about answer but before she could mom came back and told us to come out. We got out and made our way to door leading into the house. As soon as we got in I noticed that all the lights were tuned on in the house and all the shades were down and my mom put the security alarms on. Gray hurry and take your vitamins" mom is this really the time? "Yes Gray this is the perfect time now take it now. I looked at mom confused knowing something was up and that she was keeping something from me. I went to the cabinet and grabbed my 'special vitamins' and a bottle of water.

After I took my vitamins my mom asked me and Amber to take rounds around the house to make sure nothing and no one was here. '
I thought to myself why would someone be here' I shook of the thought and started to make my way towards the rooms while my mom made her way outside. After a few hours and nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary and n one was here we all met up in the living room but still alert and tense. My mother came behind me while we were sitting on the couch and put her hands on my shoulder I felt very relaxed and calm and all of a sudden I saw nothing but darkness.

Aloha everybody! So what's up with Amber that was rude to ask those questions at dinner. But then again who can blame here when she had a direct order from the Alphas.
