Chapter 6

Baby

    We came with Chase to get Amber from our mates house and head back home, when chase got out to ring the bell we decided to wait in the car. After a few seconds our mates mother, I'm assuming came and opened the door and started speaking to Chase. Obviously with our impeccable hearing we heard every word that was spoken. After a few minutes and questioning Amber and Chase made their way back to the car jumped in and started it up. Once the engines roared to life we made our way back the pack house.

     Hey let us out here we're going to check on something really quick and we'll meet you guys back at the house. Chase pulled over on the side of the road to let both me and Aaron out of the car but before we got out we heard Chase ask "something, or someone? We both growled in annoyance at him at the thought of mentioning our mate. He just threw his hands up mock surrender with a light chuckle.   "I'm just saying." I rolled my eyes and got out of the car with Aaron following close behind.

     When we got out we sent Chase and Amber back home and waited for them to leave. Once they left Aaron and I both shifted back into our wolves and made our towards our mates house. Dodging stumps and weaving through trees we made it back to her house we smelled the air and smelled for the scent of our mate where it was strongest. We rounded the house and came upon a room with doors opening towards the woods.

     We sat and stared into her room for a few minutes before we noticed our mate walking into the room with nothing on but a towel. She slowly made her towards us and my heart started to thump loudly in my ears. Her skin was still glistening with clear water droplets sliding down her smooth brown skin her hair up in a bun and her black towel stopped short above her knees. She made her way to her closet I'm assuming cause after a minute she had on a black nightgown. After she was dressed she came up to the opened door and was about to shut it when her stormy gray eyes looked directly at us. I heard Aaron make a rumbling sound from his chest as I did the same. With the look on her face like she gives up she waived her had towards us and shut the door, locking it. Once we heard the lock we ran back to the pack house to make sure everyone who was injured were being taken cared of, especially baby.

    It took me and Aaron no time to get back the pack house and we got to the front door we shifted back into our human forms barging in. Aaron check on baby and I'll check on everyone else, he gave me a small nod before disappearing to the back and out the door making his way toward the pack hospital. I turned and checked on the less injured that we were able to place in the pack house where pups and some of the women were taking care of them. Once I was satisfied I hurriedly made my way to my baby brothers.

     I walked into the pack hospital and I already felt light headed. The strong smell of disinfectant was clogging my nose and the white colorless walls everywhere I turned annoyed me. I sniffed the air getting the scent of my brothers and made a beeline directly to where the were. As soon as I walked in my heart sank because of what I saw. Baby had all of these tubes sticking out of him. He had one coming out of his throat helping him  rest he and a few more protruding from his arms and hands.

     I made my towards his side while Aaron was standing on the other. He looked weak. He was pale and lifeless with sickly veins popping out all over his body. 'Is he going to die' I thought, but I quickly shook that thought out my head. I gently rubbed my hand through his hair and giving him a light rub. He seemed to be functional because the heart monitor started to make a an annoyingly fast beeping noise for a a few seconds before going back to its original beat and tempo. Aaron looked up and smiled, "I knew you were still there baby bro- we'll get to the bottom of this and bring you back."

    Just then the pack doctor and healer came in to give us breakdown on what they think was going on with Adrian. "Alphas, I'll cut right to the chase. It seems that Adrian was poisoned cause from the bite that the rabid rogue gave to him." What kind of poison is and is it and can it be cured. The healer looked frantically between me and Aaron and before she could speak Aaron was right in front of her wrapping his hand around her throat slowly adding pressure. "Can this shit be cured" he seethed through gritted teeth. I poked at the healer with focused eyes while placing my hands gently on Aaron's shoulder. Let her go brother or else you will kill before getting the answer.

    He looked conflicted and whether or not to let her go, I could understand that but we needed to do everything we could to help Adrian. He finally released his hold on her throat and stomped his way towards the door ripping it open and slamming it shut behind him and stomping out of the hospital. I looked at the healer expectantly and waited for to catch her breath and give me an answer. 

    "Alpha, we have not yet determined the type of poison that was injected into Aloha Adrian." I was about to lose my shit. "But, we are very close to figuring out and once we do I will be able to determine what force of action that needs to be taken to help our Alpha." I looked to the doctor, is my brother stable enough to be moved to our house for treatment ?
"Y-yes Alpha he is." 

     I will make arrangements for my brothers transfer and will send 3 men to help move him to the house. Gather everything that he would need for his care and expect both of you to be doing the treatments and no one else. If he dies then I know who is at fault. "Yes Alpha" I dismissed both of them before returning to my brothers side and taking his frail hands into mine. Everything's going to be okay Adrian we will not fail you. I gave his cold hand a small squeeze before retiring back to the house to make the arrangements.
