Chapter 19

Gray: the feeling of betrayal.

I woke up to mind numbing pain as a banshee like scream flew out of my mouth. It was as if my whole body was burning and I was succumbing to hells flames itself. I sat up clutching my chest trying to gasp for air but it was useless. My eyes started to flutter close when the door busted open revealing both my frantic mom and a pissed off looking Axel. I looked at their faces watching them trying to speak to me but all I heard was humming before darkness consumed me.

After what seemed like forever I woke up to a tingling sensation running up and down my arm. I opened my eyes and saw Axel hovering above me concern in his eyes. "Are you okay little mate," he asked with raspy voice. I nodded my head up and down 'yes.' "I need words Gray." I slowly reached my hand up to his face caressing his cheek. Yes, Axel I'm okay. He nodded his head and helped me to sit up and rest against the headboard of my bed. W-what happened to me? Just before he could answer my mom came into the room.

     "Oh my baby!" My mom ran towards and wrapped her arms around me tightly like I was going to disappear at any moment. I'm okay now mom, I promise. She smiled and gave me a small nod before gently letting me go. She sat down next to me while Axel sat on the opposite side stroking my arm lovingly. Mom what happened to me? She grabbed my hand and held it in hers not saying anything for awhile before a tear slipped down her cheek. M-mom, I asked shakily. "Sweetie, usually when someone finds their mate or in your case mates they start to feel a connection or a bond start to form in every way possible. Spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically. At first you would t have felt anything because of those pills I gave and also you didn't even know what mates were u til just the other day. But now since you have been in contact with all of your mates and you're no longer taking the pills and all that stuff you can feel the bond grow stronger." Mom I mean no disrespect but please you know I don't puke beating around the bush.

    " Well baby, it seems that one or two of your mates are being sexual active with someone else," she whispered. I felt Axel get up and start to pave back and forth in front of bed growling and mumbling things under his breath. O-oh, umm I-I see. If you don't mind I'm already late for school and uh I'd like to start getting ready please. She gave me a small hug and a kiss on my cheek before leaving my room. Axel made his way towards me and kissed my forehead before jumping out of the door that led into the forest and shifted mid air before disappearing through the trees

     Once my mom and Axel was gone the tears started to flow freely down my face. My heart broke into pieces at the fact that my mates, the men who were suppose to love me unconditionally and protect me left me like I was trash. Like I meant nothing. Is that what I am? Nothing. I got up and made my way to my bathroom stripping out my clothes and got in and sat under the warm water as it cascades down my body. After what seemed like hours but was really only 20 minutes I got up and finished my shower. Once I was finished I got and headed straight to my closet to get dressed for school.

Once I was finished I got all the things that I would need and made my way towards the door. I made my way downstairs and to the kitchen seeing my mom sitting at the kitchen table. I walked up to her and kissed her cheek and grabbed a green apple from the basket. I started to walk before I looked over my shoulder at my mom one more time. I'll see you after school mom, I love you.

"I love you too Gray baby!"

I walked out of the house and came face to face with a giant gray wolf. I knew it was Axel because of the scar coming down his left eye. I bent down and wrapped my arms around him and kissed his face. I'm walking to school wolf. Would you like to walk with me, I asked with a smile. He gave me a small whimper with a light nod. Okay, let's head out. I got up off of my knees and made my way down the the path towards school with wolf by my side.

When we were getting closer my heart started to beat faster and my stomach had butterflies and not the good kind when your crush is about to give you a kiss but a bad one when your crush is about to reject you. My mind started to wander and come up with scenarios on how today was going to play out. Then I heard a small whimper from beside me and saw wolf licking my hand. I'll be okay wolf.....I think, I whispered the last part more to myself then him. I looked down at wolf before heading out of the forest. Okay wolf, I'll see you after school yeah? He gave me a nod laying his massive body down. I gave him one more scratch behind the ears before coming out of the tress and crossing the street to school.

       Walking up to the front of the school I reached out to grab the door handle and pulled it open taking a deep breath before walking inside. 'Today is going to be a long day.' "Hey Gray!" I turned around to see Amber and Rose walking towards me with smiles on their faces. Oh hey guys how's it going? "We tried calling you and texting you but we didn't get a response. Are you okay?" Oh yeah, sorry I lost my phone. "Okay well it's good seeing you we need to go to class." Okay see you guys later I waved. They walked away heading down the hall when I heard Rose ask Amber "do you think she knows?"

     I started to walk in the opposite direction mulling over what's been happening in my life until I ran into a damn wall. I looked up but instead of a wall I saw him.....
