||Kylo||
She was still unconscious and he could do nothing but watch her. Her eyelids closed against the dim light of the questioning room, her breathing deep and relaxed. She was the most beautiful, most innocent person he'd ever layed his eyes upon. Such lethal beauty haunted with a dangerous darkness. He felt tempted to invade her mind. But she looked so vulnerable, so pure that he couldn't bring himself tot take adventage of her state. He'd have plenty of time for that once she was awake. So he sufficed in watching her, trying to figure out what was so special about her. The world for some reason chose to cross their paths. Why? The question lingered in his head and he searched for answers but there were none that made sense to him.She jerked awake with a gasp. Not seeming to notice him, she struggled against her restraints but then sighed once she found her struggle to be futile. Glancing around her surroundings, she took notice of his presence and her eyes hardened.
"Where am I?" She tried to hide the fear that consumed her but the slight quiver in her voice failed her.
"you're my guest." He said a little too cheerfuly and he had to resist the urge from slapping himself. There she was shaking in front of him and he had to be all cheery.
"Where are the others?"
"You mean the murderers, traitors andthieves you call friends?" He inquired, not expecting an answer and he watched in amusement as she blinked at him, "You'll be relieved to hear that I have no idea."
He watched her as she studied him. She looked fearful yet at the same time intrigued. He sensed anger as well. Anger directed at him.
He tilted his head, "You still want to kill me," He observed a smirk playing on his lips.
"That happens when you're being hunted by a creature in a mask,"she muttered still carefully studying him.
Kylo stared hard at her, considering her words. Then he slowly reached up, unlatched his mask, removing it. He held back a smirk of satisfaction at her stunned reaction. Whatever she expected it definitely was not that. It only took her a moment before she regained her own mask of defiance.
Putting his mask away, he slowly approached her, arms crossed behind his back,"Tell me about the droid."
she hesitated for a second, eyes tearful, then shrugged nervously, "He's a BB unit with a selenium drive and a thermal hyperscan vindicator -"
He interrupted her blabbering, "He's carrying a section of a navigational chart. We have the rest, recovered from archives of the Empire. We need the last piece. And somehow, you convinced the droid to show it to you. You. A scavenger." He watched as her face dropped with every word he uttered, her eyes dripping with tears that she refused to shed. For a mere second, he found himself hesitating. But he was a man on a mission. And he refused to back down.
"You know I can take whatever I want," he muttered. She looked at him, unsure.
Trepidation flashes across her eyes as Kylo moved closer, his hand rising towards her face. She recoils, but the cahir and her retraints allowed little space. Nearly touching her face, he's taken off gard by a slight burst of energy that coursed between them. It was fleeting yet he still felt it and had to stop for a moment to gather himself. If Rey felt it, she paid no mind too caught up in the agony of his probing. He focused back on the task at hand but soon enough found himself completely forgetting about the droid as pieces of her life started forming before him.
"You're so lonely... so afraid to leave..." he muttered softly, digging deeper, "At night, desperate to sleep... you imagine an ocean. I see it -- I see the island..." He drifted off trying to make sense of the flashes he was getting, in order to piece her life together. Tears stream down her face as she resisted him. She tries to break free, desperate to get away yet unable to budge. He went back and forth between her dreams and nightmares. She, too, had been abandoned by her family from a young age. Then he saw his father and his heart clenched.
"And Han Solo," he started again, "You feel like he's the father you never had. He would've disappointed you." With his hand still on her face, he notice th fierce glint in her eyes as she struggled through the agony.
"Get out of my head," she sneered, snapping out of his trance. He seemed to finally remember his mission and he pulled away. Extending his am in front of him, he reached into the deepest parts of mind.
"I know you've seen the map. It's in there... and now you'll give it to me,"he instructed, pulling her towards him but he was dealing with a fighter. He fround but didn't back down. He needed that map and he was going to get it. But for some reason, he still felt unsure. He wasn't simply seeing her all her memories and thoughts. He was feeling everything she felt as well. Certainly, the pain couldn't have been as agonizing as it was for her, but it was there nevertheless. He brushed it off pinning it on the fact that he was probably growing in power due to his training, "Don't be afraid. I feel it too." He assured, digging deeper.
"I'm not giving you anything," she sneered smugly, obviously starting to feel more confident.
He stared at her for a second but then smirked, "We'll see." He peered into her eyes intensely and she met his gaze. He reached further, a strain on his face as he started losing the upper hand. His confidence started faltring and he slammed up against a barrier in her mind. He looked less certain by the moment as Rey seemed to be growing in strength. The ferocity of their confrontation burned the room down until it hit a critical mass and instead of crawling away, the scavenger leaned forward. Kylo frowned but tried not to let his uncertainty show.
"You..." she whispered, locking eyes with him, "you're afraid... that you will never be as strong as... Darth Vader!"
Kylo withdrew his hands, as if her face was on fire. Despite the fact that it wasn't, her words certainly burned his soul. He took a step back, confused, rattled. He heaved, eyes wide, as he tried to make sense of what had just happened. Then it hit him. The force. Still frowning, he left the room in a rush. He had to see Master Snoke and tell him about his eventful date.
I've abandoned this story for the past three months and I'm feeling awfully guilty about it. Don't worry though. I will finish this book. It's just that as fun as college have been so far, the experience has also been, somewhat hectic. So not only am I trying to deal with my chaotic life but also writing two books at the same time! I hope you like the chapter and if you do, don't forget to like it. I've decided that I won't be writing all the events of TFA and TLJ seeing as it would be pointless and I want to dive into TROS and no it's nothing like the movie, rest assured. Even I am not that heartless. I'll see you next chapter my fellow Reylos and antis who are reading this just because they have nothing better to do,
Roumy.
