After school, you were sat in Mal and Evie's room, talking to Mal and Jay about the gossip they missed during their time away from the Isle. You hadn't told any of the others where you were, but you didn't think they'd really care. Although you were beginning to genuinely consider being good, you didn't want any of them to know. Lord knows how much they'd laugh at you.
"The real big thing when we left was what happened to the janitor at school," you were telling them, "someone murdered him."
"Who?" Jay enquired, his eyes widening in shock.
"Yzla." You lied. Of course you weren't going to tell them what actually happened.
"That must be why there's a giant cross next to her name," Mal realised, "I don't think Ben's letting her come here."
You paused for a moment, feeling the same guilt you had felt a million times before. You knew Yzla was innocent. You knew that she was getting her dream torn away, and you were letting it happen. You quickly shook the feeling off and returned to the conversation.
"So answer this for me, why do you guys hate Randy so much?" Jay questioned. "I know he's a complete asshole, but I thought that was the kind of person that group of yours goes for."
"First of all, he's a bit too ugly and irrelevant for us," you joked, "but it actually is a really good story... that I'm not allowed to tell."
"Seriously? You can't just bait us with that!" Jay complained.
"I promised Anthony I wouldn't tell!"
"I thought you didn't keep promises anymore." Mal pointed out.
"And I thought you wanted me to be good," you retorted with a smug tone of voice, "how can I do that if I'm spilling secrets? It's probably the only story about us that hasn't spread across the entire Isle."
"You're just making us want to hear it even more." Jay claimed.
"Well I'm not telling you."
"Fine. Keep your secrets." Mal said. "We'll find out eventually."
"Would he ever keep a secret like that for you?" Jay asked, trying to make you want to spill the secret.
"Probably not." You shrugged. "Look, all you guys need to know about the story is that Randy is a weird cunt...and a bit of a dick."
"Woah! Language!" Mal raised her eyebrows.
"Don't be so boring." You chuckled whilst standing up. "I should probably go, I'll see you guys later for a fill-in on the gossip around here."
"It's all really petty," Mal noted. You said goodbye to them and went back to your own room, where Ginny was sat on her bed with a suspicious look on her face.
"What are you doing?" You asked, immediately noticing something off.
"Nothing." She claimed, clearly having something she wanted to tell you.
"You're not very convincing." You told her. "What's going on?"
"Anthony's on a date!" She admitted.
"What the fuck?" You gasped at the thought of it. "With who?"
"Bethany." Ginny smirked.
"No way. The king's sister?"
"Yup. I'm guessing it's something to do with the plan his grandmother had."
"You sure?"
"I'm always right about these things."
