Scars

You have a scar on your right wrist.
You remember how you got it.
It was a sunny afternoon so your family went for a walk.
You stayed home.
You turned on your hair wand and let
it sit
Until it was hot.
Then you slapped it against your skin
While screaming.
Your mom only ever wears long pants,
Because she has scars on her thighs.
Because she thinks they're too big.
So every night when you go to sleep she turns her legs into paper, she
becomes an artist.
Your sister only wears long sleeves because she accidentally purposely got into a fight and had to get stitches.
But maybe the worst scar of all is the one he left on your heart.
