I laid in bed and looked at the alarm clock. I have been laying here for about two hours and haven't been able to sleep. My stomach felt empty as it twisted and flipped for no reason. I sighed and closed my eyes but was wide awake. I felt all alone on the bed and didn't like the feeling. I crawled to the edge of the bed and looked at Elliot. I couldn't tell if he was sleeping or not.

"Elliot, are you awake?"

Elliot rolled over and his green eyes shone in the darkness. He sat by the end of the bed and nodded. His face was dangerously close to mine and I could feel my breath start to quicken at his closeness. Why did he have this affect on me? "I don't think I can fall asleep."

"Why, what's wrong?"

I blushed but it was hidden by the darkness of the room. Everyone else had gone to bed also so it was just me and Elliot up alone. I looked down and started to mess with my fingers out of nervous habit. I didn't think I could say anything but the I felt Elliot's hand on the side of my face. I looked at him in slight shock. "Rose, you can tell me anything."

My heart was hammering in my chest so hard I could have sworn you could hear it. I nodded and looked at his serious eyes. Even though I haven't know him long I felt like I could trust Elliot. His hand was still on my face when I answered.

"It's just- I feel- Okay this is going to sound really stupid and awkward but I just feel alone up here by myself."

He smiled and his thumb start to rub my cheek. I leaned into his hand and closed my eyes. I felt it slip away and when I opened my eyes he was gone. I sat up and looked around. Suddenly he grabbed my waist from behind and I jumped so high that I made the bed move when I landed. My heart almost came out of my chest it was beating so hard.

"Are you okay? You jumped so hard!"

I laughed.

"My heart is beating so fast! Here, feel this."

I grabbed his hand and placed it on my chest. He froze and was like a statue. I looked at him and met his eyes. He calmed down and loosened up. He looked at me and grinned. My heart slowed way down and I realized I had stopped breathing. He looked at and gently pulled his hand back. I laid down on my side and he faced me. I closed my eyes but sighed in frustration and without opening them began to talk. "It's not working!"

I heard him laughed and the bed moved as he scooted closer to me. I could feel his nearest but refused to open my eyes. I shook my head and he scooted even closer. This went on until I was curled up against him. I sighed and almost instantly relaxed. I could hear Elliot's breathing waver with nervousness. His arm wrapped around me and I fell asleep. He rolled over on his back and was about to leave when I rolled over partially on him and rested my head on his chest, my arm wrapped next to my head. He tried to move his legs to the side but I wrapped my legs around his. He was stuck.

"Rose, that's not funny. If you aren't asleep by now I don't think it's working."

I didn't answer but continued to sleep on. Not until later did I find out that this really happened. Elliot looked over at me and watched me sleep for a few minutes before he knew I wasn't really awake. He slowly wrapped his arm around me and held me close to him. All he could think about was how right Natalie had been when she accused him of liking her today and if maybe- just maybe there was a chance that Rose liked him also.

I woke up in the morning with warm breathing softly blowing on my head. My legs were entangled in his and I was sleeping on top of his chest. His face was pressed in my hair and he was still sleeping. I smiled but didn't feel like moving from my comfortable position. I closed my eyes right when the door opened slightly and footsteps came softly walking around to Elliot's side.
