A Night We'll Never Remember

Chapter 5

I walk over to the bed and I don't want to but I need to wake her up. I gently shake her shoulder. "Regina. Regina could you wake up please?"  I hear her grown. "No. I'm sleeping".  "Regina please. You need to wake up".  "What? Who is that?"  "Regina it's me Emma Swan. Please wake up".  "I'm up Miss Swan. What the hell are you doing in my room?"  "I wish I remembered but I don't and we need to talk".  "You bet we do". She starts to sit up and she realizes she naked. "What the hell? Did we sleep together last night?"  "I assume so. I don't remember. Regina I'm so sorry. I really don't know what we did last night but we need to find out because I'm wearing one of these". I hold up my left hand and she looks at the ring. "Emma is that what I think it is?"  "I can only guess that it is".  She looks at her left hand and says. "Oh dear god. What did we do?"  I shrug my shoulders and shake my head. "Could you please hand me my robe that's hung up on the bathroom door?"  I nod. I get her robe and hand it to her. I walk towards the other side of the room with my back to her so she has privacy getting out of bed. I hear the bathroom door close so I turn around. I walk back to the bed and look around.  There is nothing on the nightstands or on the floor. I look on the dresser and I see an big manila envelope with the words Angel of Love Wedding Chapel. I pick it up and open it. I take out a few pieces of paper 2 cds or dvds and at the bottom are 2 ring boxes. They are both empty. I look through the papers one is a receipt for the 2 wedding bands, an engagement ring plus the cost of the ceremony, the pictures and a dvd recording. Regina finally comes out of the bathroom. "What are you looking at?"  "The receipt for our wedding. Apparently we got married on the beach with 6 tiki torches. We have a dvd of the pictures and a dvd of the ceremony".  "So it's true we got married?"  "According to this receipt and this liability waver that has both our signatures on it we are".  "So how much did we spend on our beach wedding".  " $ 6,328.43.  For the cost of the engagement ring, the wedding bands, the witnesses, the pictures and video and the use of a dress and a tuxedo and apparently it was on my debit card".   "You paid for the wedding?"  "Yeah I guess I did".  "I need to sit down". She sits on the bed and I sit on the chair in the room and continue to look through the rest of the papers. "It seems that we should be getting a copy of our marriage license in the mail within the next 7 to 10 business days. It's being sent to I guess your address on Mifflin street?"  "Yes I live on Mifflin street".  "Ok then. It's always good to know where the wife lives".  "Emma please this is no time for jokes".  "I know but there's no need to cry about it now. We just need to figure out what we are gonna do about it".   "I can't even think about this now. Can we meet up later and talk about this?  I'd like to take a shower and have some coffee".  "Yeah sure no problem".  I put on my socks and shoes and take my phone off the nightstand. I have lots missed calls and text messages from Ruby. "Before I go can we exchange numbers so we can decide when to meet and figure out what to do?"  She nods and starts to tell me her number. "Oh it seems your already in my phone as Wifey".  I say with a little laugh. I start to give her my number. "Yes I also have your number".  "What name am I under?"  "I'd prefer not to say".  "Come on let me see please".  She holds up here phone and I laugh out loud. "That's awesome. Sex Machine.  That's the best thanks wifey".  That makes her laugh a bit. "Ok please go now my head is pounding".  "Ok. Please call me later ok?"  "Yes I will". We say our goodbyes and luckily we are staying in the same hotel. I go down two floors to my room with Ruby.
      I walk in the room and Ruby runs to me and practically jumps on me.  "Emma where the hell have you been. I've been going crazy all night".  "Sorry Rubes I got drunk and well let's just say I had a crazy night. I think. I don't really remember".   "So did you get lucky last night Ems?"   I sit down on the bed and let out a sigh. "I don't know Ruby. I have no memory of what happened last night".  I run my hands through my hair and Ruby just about yells. "Emma what the hell is this?"  She grabs my left hand and touches the ring. "Apparently I got married last night".  "What the fuck Ems? You disappear for 12 hours, no call, no word nothing and now your married. How does that even happen Emma?"  "The only answer I have is tequila. I had a lot of those margaritas and shots of tequila last night".   "So what's the new wife's name?"  "I can't tell you that Ruby".  "Can't tell me because you don't remember?"   "Can't tell because she could get into trouble if someone finds out".  "Oh Emma she's not underage is she?"  "What? No of course not Ruby. Since when do I go for anyone younger than me?"  She shrugs her shoulders. "Right never so give me a little bit more credit next time".  "So what are you gonna do?"   "I don't know yet. We're gonna meet up later and talk about things".  "Can I come meet her?"   "No Ruby you can't sorry and please don't tell anyone, especially my parents".   "Your no fun".  "Yeah I know. I heard that's what marriage does to people. I'm going to take a shower".  "Fine I'm going to see what the girls are up to".  "Ok and please don't say anything".  "I promise".  She gives me a hug and leaves the room. I gather some clothes and go take my shower. The hot water feels great against my skin and head.  I feel a little better when I come out of the shower. I get dressed and when I sit in the bed I just lay back and close my eyes.  I must have fallen asleep because next ting I know is Ruby is waking me up saying she knows who it is.  "What the hell are you talking about Ruby?"   "Your wife. It's Regina Mills isn't it?"  "What makes you think it's her?" I ask as I sit up. "The girls and I went down for breakfast and I saw her there nursing her coffee with a hand on her head and that hand showed off a ring just like yours not to mention a beautiful looking diamond ring".  "And that makes you think I married her?"  "I promise not to say anything. I understand what you meant now by she could get into trouble".   "Yes it's her. Please Ruby not a single word to anyone".   "I promise Ems".  My phone buzzes and it's Regina. "I gotta go Ruby. She wants to talk in her room".  I make sure I have my room key and phone and leave to go back up to her room.
