A Night We'll Never Remember

Chapter 15

"You felt our baby move?"  She nods with wet eyes and tears falling. "Yes Emma I did. Give me your hand".  I hold my hand out and she takes it to place on her small baby bump. She held it there for a few minutes but I can't feel anything and it's somewhat disappointing but I try not to show it. "I'm sorry Emma. Hopefully soon you'll be able to feel the baby move".  I give her a kiss. "No worries babe. I'm fine as long as you and the baby are". We kiss again. She wraps her arms around my neck and asks. "Are you sure your ok my love?"  "I'm better than ok".  "Good I'm very happy to hear that Emma. I'm also very hungry now so why don't we heat up some of our dinner and take this delicious bruschetta into the living room and watch something on tv?"   Sounds better than anything I could come up with. Let do it". We both giggle as we put some of our food onto plates to put them in the microwave to heat up. My dinner looks delicious. It has chunks of lobster in it and a lot of shrimp. While Regina's food is heating up I take a bite of one of my Alfredo lobster claws. "Mmm mmm mmm. Omg. This is so damn good babe".  "Can I try some Em?"   "Sure babe. I read in a book earlier that a pregnant woman can have low mercury seafood in moderation. So one bite of lobster and one shrimp for you".  She sticks her tongue out at me and I laugh. I give her a kiss. "Regina I love you". I don't even register that I said I love you but Regina definitely noticed. She stopped herself as she was about to take a bite. "Emma what did you just say?"   I'm confused because most of the time I don't think before I speak. "What?  What did I say?"  "You just said I love you".   "I Ahh, well.... No, you know what? I'm not gonna beat around the bush. Yeah I love you. Maybe I didn't mean to say it for the first time in such a casual manner but I do Regina. When I first saw you I'm sure what I felt was all lust but you saw me like no one else ever has. When we talked on the pier and then ate at Granny's I saw you differently. I saw you as a beautiful woman with a wonderful heart who cared about others and I know I'm not wrong about that because if I was I wouldn't be here right now. I do love you Regina and if you aren't ready to say it then don't. Take all the time yo....".   I was about to say 'take all the time you need' but Regina cut me off with a hard kiss to my lips. "I love you Emma. I love you. I do I swear". I get another hard kiss to my lips.  "You really do Regina, you love me?"  She runs her hands through my hair and nods with a smile on her face. "Yes I do and I pray I always will". I wrap my arms around her waist and we hold onto each other tight. I have no idea how long we held each other and I don't think either of us cared, well until Regina wanted to eat and so did I. Her food was still in the microwave and the ding went off a while ago.  "Babe I think you may need to heat that again". We both laugh a little. She takes the food out and mixed it up. She takes a small bite and says it does need another moment. I smile and take another chunk of my lobster to eat. I also eat some more bruschetta and the timer dings on the microwave again. This time Regina takes it right out and mixes it up and it seems hot enough. "I think I'm good babe. I'm getting full on the bruschetta plus those pieces of lobster were delicious and huge. If you don't mind I'll just try one of those cannolis and have a beer".   "That's definitely ok my love. You can have anything you want".  I giggle a little and give a small smirk.  "Emma my love what just popped into your mind right now?"   "Well you just said I could have anything I want and in my perverted mind I was hoping that meant you".  She picks up her plate and a bottle of water. As she walks out of the kitchen she says over her shoulder. "Hmm maybe you could have me. I guess it depends on how well you behave while we watch the movie".  And she walks away. I shake my head. Man I do love that woman. I grab a plate out of the cabinet. I get two pieces of the crispy bread and put on the bruschetta topping. I go to the refrigerator and grab a beer plus I open the container with the cannolis. I open it and take two out so Regina can also have one. I leave the kitchen and join Regina on the couch and we decide what to watch old reruns of Cagney & Lacey instead of a movie. We talked a little about how much I'd like to be an officer and that I'm trying to study for the academy. This show as well as my dad always excited me about becoming a cop one day. They were great hard ass cops with a heart. That's my hope for myself. Regina and I ate our food and watched a few episodes of my show as we snuggled on the couch. Before we knew it it was almost 4 in the morning. "Oh god babe. I hope you don't have plans today. It's so late I'm sorry".  I didn't know it but she fell asleep on my shoulder as we watched tv. "Hmm what's wrong my love".   "Well it's so late at night and we are still here on the couch. I hope you don't have to do anything today". She snuggled in closer to me. "No dear I don't everything it's fine".  "Good I'm glad you are gonna get some rest. How about I walk you up to bed and then I'll see you later. Maybe we can have lunch at Granny's or something".  She shakes her head. "No Emma. Please don't leave". She lets out a big yawn. "I really want to hold you as I sleep. Please Emma?"  Her eyes are closed as she asks me to stay.  "Ok babe I'll definitely stay and hold you as long as you want". She doesn't say anything in return. It seems she's out cold. I pick her up then I slowly stand up and carry her upstairs to her bedroom and lay her on the bed. I cover her with the sheets and blankets. I then leave to go back downstairs to make sure the food is in the fridge. I check the locks on the doors and shut all the lights off. I walk back upstairs and into the bedroom. Regina is still sleeping. I go to the bathroom to relieve myself. I wash my hands and brush my teeth then I carefully get in bed next to Regina. As soon as I cover myself with the sheets she moves closer to me and I open my arms to welcome her. I hold her close and just the sound of her peaceful breathing against my upper chest sets me at ease and I slowly drift off to sleep myself. 
When I wake up the morning or afternoon, whatever time it is, I feel soft kisses to my face and neck. I stretch a bit. "Hmm babe. Hi".  "Hello my love. I'm sorry to wake you but you just looked so beautiful while you were asleep that I couldn't help myself".  She places a gentle kiss to my lips and I hum at the feeling. "Are you hungry my love? I could could make you breakfast".  "I love breakfast and I'm always hungry but why don't we go to Granny's? You don't have to cook".  "I don't mind cooking. I love to cook I just never get a chance to".  I smile and ask. "What time is it anyway?"  She looks over at the nightstand and says. "It's almost 11am".  I smile and lean in to kiss her. "And why are you all smiles this morning Miss Swan?"   "I'm smiling because I definitely liked the way I was woken up this morning".  "I have to agree with you. I quite enjoyed waking up in your arms as well. I wouldn't mind getting used to it".   We both smile and share another kiss. "So what do you want for breakfast my love?  I can make you an omelette, pancakes or maybe some waffles".   "Babe I'm serious I don't want you to cook breakfast for me. We were up so late last night let's just take the day to chill out together. Let's go to Granny's. Come on what do ya say?  You don't have to cook so there is no cleaning or putting anything away".  "Well since you put it that way, yes. Let's go to Granny's. I just need to shower first".  "Yeah me too. I would suggest showering together to save water but I didn't think I could control myself plus we may not be ready for all that yet".  She laughs and says. "I definitely agree with you. I don't think I could control myself either".  We kiss and then get up to take separate showers in separate rooms. We get dressed and I drive us over to Granny's.
