v part 2/2

iana's pov

i'm on my phone just staring at the 'call' button contemplating if i should call payton or not. 'i have to' i thought to myself.

i then pressed the button and inhaled sharply. "hello?" oh shit fuck it's payton.
"oh, umm. payton, i was wondering if we could hang out today?" i said in a questioning tone, unsure of what i have just said.

"who else would be there?" he asked. "maybe just the two of us, if that's fine." i said."of course! where do we meet?" he asked once again. "the park, at 3:30." i said smiling although he wouldn't see it.

time skip

i arrived at the park ten minutes early, still waiting for payton. i saw a figure approaching with a wave and i immediately recognized who it is.

payton.

i grew nervous but managed to wave back.
he sat down the swing beside me. "so,," he said unsure. "i a-actually have to tell you something." oh great! i stuttered. "shoot." he responded.

"payton, i like you." i said, blushing.

silence. i was starting to get embarrassed because he wasn't responding. i looked up at him and he was shocked.

"i-i'm sorry, iana. i don't think i'm ready for a relationship yet. i c-can't." he said. tears started to roll on my cheeks as i was smiling at him. gosh i look like a psycho.

"no, it's ok. i'm sorry i put you into such an awkward situation." i said. "i'm really sorry." he said with sadness evident in his face. i gave him a smile and stood up. ready to leave.

he grabbed my arm and gave me a hug. i wish he wouldn't let go. eventually, he did.
i smiled once more and went to my home.
i cried all night. luckily it was saturday, so still no classes tomorrow.  it was so painful but i can't do anything about it. i respect his decision.
