Once again, you woke up with the sun hitting your face. You sat up and rubbed your eyes with your hand before finally opening them. You look at the clock on the desk and see that you slept a few hours. Deciding that you didn't want to sit down anymore, you got out of the bed and stood up.

The room is the exact same as when you fell asleep. No one but you was in the room either. Walking around to get the feeling back in your legs, you decided to look a little more closely at the various things around the room. It seems that it's just your typical medical stuff.

You walked over to the door and debated whether to go through it or not. What was awaiting you beyond this door? Would they try to attack you and keep you in this room? Were they just a bunch of barbarians that had no manners? Or would they just ignore you and let you wander around?

The only way to find out was by opening this door. Were you ready? You had no idea. You knew one thing for sure though, whatever was behind this door would determine how the rest of your life would be.

Taking a deep breath, you opened the door and took your first step out. Taking a look around, you notice you're in a wooden hallway. Presumably below deck. You hear footsteps above you and muffled voices coming from your right. You head that way and come upon a staircase you assumed lead up to the deck. As you walk up the steps, the voices become louder and more clear. You can just make out a few words. What were they talking about and why were they so jumbled together? Just how many of them are there?

You see a light shining under the door that leads to the deck and grab hold of the handle. Twisting then pushing the door open, you cover your eyes with your hand to help them adjust to the sun. Moving your hand away from your face, you look around and see a bunch of different people around the ship. Some are younger than others or not even of the same race. This was definitely a surprise. The only thing you could do was stare in awe for a few seconds before a voice snapped you out of it.

"I see you're awake again. And you're up and moving. That's good." It was one of the men that spoke to you earlier. You remembered his name was Thatch.

You only nodded, too overwhelmed at the moment to give a proper response.

"Are you sure you're alright enough to be moving around? You were in pretty bad shape when we found you." He asked.

"Yeah..." you finally spoke, "I've had worse."

He raised an eyebrow in response. You saw but didn't elaborate. Deciding to change the subject you asked "Where am I?"

He decided to play along and answered. "You're on Whitebeard's ship."

"Whitebeard?" You asked.

"You don't know who Whitebeard is?" He asked, surprised.

You just shook your head. No outside information was allowed on the island. It was one of the ways the marines could keep everyone under control. No information, no escape. Your group just got lucky.

"He's one of the four emperors of the sea and the captain of this and many other ships. All of his crew mates call him pops though because he's like our father." Thatch responded.

Your eyes widened a bit. Pops... you hadn't thought about your step (A/N: Is it step dad? I don't know) dad since you were floating in the ocean. You suddenly felt sad. You just reunited just to be torn apart again. This time, permanently. You must have shown it on your face because Thatch spoke again.

"You ok? You look a little sad." Thatch asked you. You quickly put up your mask again.

"I'm fine." You said, turning away. Thatch just sighed and looked in front of him again.
