Yusei pov

I'm not sure where I am, but it's dark, and cold. There's nothing around me, and I can't tell whether I'm standing or falling, floating or even right ways. I wonder, how did I get here? I don't know how long it's been or even if time matters here, but I recall vaguely the events that lead to my being here.

So, I'm injured. I must be unconscious, but I'm not usually aware I'm unconscious, so I can only assume this has something to do with the scythe the guy used to cut me, so maybe it's a power of his or one of his monsters? The cold seeps closer and I shudder, breaking off any thought and curling up to remain warm. As I try to get back on track, to figure out a plan to escape, to wake up or at least to leave the darkness, the cold seeps closer and closer, never giving me enough time to make any progress, let alone a solid train of thought.

"Is anyone there...?"

My voice doesn't echo, is gets sucked into the dark void and dies almost immediately after leaving my mouth. I would almost worry, but the cold is so close now, that I can barely feel my arms or legs, let alone think or breathe, which is becoming a real challenge right now. Maybe I can just... give up? I feel my breathing stutter, but then a face comes to mind. A girl, and darker guy, blonde hair, multi hair, blue eyes, all continue to come until I'm staring into the faces of my friends, and that gives me the strength to open my eyes for the first time since I became aware.

It is not dark, not completely, and as I move, the ground remains under me, so I must've been standing.  What is the point of this? Does it keep me confined here, does it take control of my mind, what is the point of this magic? Surely, there is a great reason for using the scythe, when he had monsters under his control. Maybe there's a reason he didn't use the monsters? Perhaps...

I continue to muddle this over, as I walk, though I'm paying more attention to moving each foot since they feel like weights that are steadily getting stronger and heavier the further I go. I start limping, the weights heavy and many, then to my surprise, they start to break and snap. I can soon move freely, though the sudden weightlessness leaves me reeling for a moment and I immediately wonder my purpose. If I don't have to carry the weight, what am I supposed to do?

"Yusei, the doctor was pretty confident that we'd be able to talk to you and get you out of whatever you're in. I don't know if you can hear me, and frankly I don't care. I'm going to talk to you anyways, because it's important. You're important. I...We want you to come back. We all miss you, and we have so much more to show you about our time. Please, I want to take you shopping, and watch you make Kaiba a better person and watch you duel with Yugi and laugh, eat, cry, please, I just want to watch you live, because seeing you this still is not right."

The voice is female, and I immediately recognize Tea, and her voice creates a path, in a beautiful light to lead the way, that removes any weight, doubt and hopeless from me, letting me travel quite a distance before she stops talking. I pant and slump, feeling more tired, but waiting. Surely if they're taking turns, all I have to do is follow the light path that lights up when they do and I will escape and rejoin them. At least, that's the plan. Hopefully, it works.

"We're just hopin ya can hear us, but I have a feelin ya can, so here goes. I know we only met recently, and we really shouldn't care this much, but life without you would just be so boring. After realizing how strong the bond we share with ya and Yuge is, I don't think any of us - not even Kaiba, the selfish bastard he is - would be able to really keep going without your bond. Something about it is special. I certainly hope to get to eat more food with you, cause you like going out with me, even if ya ain't doing nothin but watching me eat. Please, come on back, man."

The path stays and is brighter, but the second his voice stops, it's gone and I'm left to stumble while waiting for the next person to go. Hopefully, the fact that I'm running along the path while they're talking means I'm taking more distance. And I'm also hoping the brightness of the light means I'm getting closer. I wonder how long this is taking in the real world?
