3rd pov
Blue eyes watch - wide in fear for the first time in years, its been years since he first sopped showing his honest emotions - as the staff gets closer and closer to his first real friend, hoping and praying something will knock it off course. (Fuck Yugi's eyes, I'm saying purple, it's close enough) Purple eyes watch - honest as they always are - in fear, tears already building up. The scream had torn itself from his throat, but there's still nothing he can do from where he is.
Pale blue eyes watch in - hope, anxiety, despair - as one of the few best people she's ever met faces his death head on, unless something manages to save him. However, even with her optimism, she knows when reality is too real, and this is one of those moments, the ground between each of them too great for any of them to cross. Brown eyes glimpse only an approaching staff towards his friend, before they close. He is not brave enough, strong enough to watch his friend die, not when he will hear it from where he is. Light brown eyes watch - dismayed, hopeful, understanding, resigned - as death encroaches on another person from his family. Wasn't his sister enough?
Dark blue eyes don't stop watching as the staff encloses on him. He knows he can't dodge, and he probably won't survive, but he can't die yet. Not now, when he finally has something to live for, for the first time in years. His friends had forgotten and ignored him when he wasn't needed, but these guys, his new friends, they cared for everything he said, did and asked. They understood and he refused to die when there was finally something to live for in years. He won't die, not today, not if he has anything to say about it. A nearly transparent light surrounds Yusei, a beautiful - terrifying if you were on the receiving force of it - roar echoes around the silent city, as Stardust dragon rises from inside its friend, finally free to get some well deserved payback.
Even as yellow(I couldn't find any pictures big enough to see Stardusts eyes, and they always looked yellowish in the pictures. I hope this is right) eyes fix on the enemy, he's scrambling back, heading for his dragon yet again. Yusei grins, glad his friend had made it, even as Stardust offers a paw and lifts his friend onto his back, gaze never moving from the enemy - the bastard, the shithead, the cunt sucking - that had tried and almost succeeded in killing his closest friend twice. Never again, not again, while he was here.(making stardust a guy, the show never specifies, that I remember - it was a lot of episodes, ok? - and the little I'm finding just say its type and such.)
Kaiba releases a breath he wasn't aware he was holding and turns, targeting the two dragons their enemy just summoned in order to release his terror and anger on. Yugi takes several seconds to center himself after the close call, and then focuses on the enemy as well, ignoring the tears that had already fallen down his cheeks in the moments where his heart had felt like it was crushed. Blue eyes and Dark magician feel their friends emotions and fight harder due to that. Joey and Tea lean on each other, and drag Tristan into is, as they all feel the fear disappear and the hope finally rise, even as they continue to fight. All the monsters can feel their friends emotions and use those to power their attacks.
To have frightened their friends to the extent, that most were almost crying, was unacceptable, especially since most had been with their friends for as long as they could remember. Kaiba takes down the first enemy, Blue eyes beam easily tearing through one of their opponents wings and its claws equally rendering the other opponents wings torn as well. Both dragons fall to the ground, creating a crater where they land, conscious - barely - and turn hopeful eyes to their owner - friend? - and then despair as he growls at them.
"Pathetic, worthless beasts. Beaten by one, inferior monster. I don't know why you are giving me that look, you were always my slaves, and now I see no use for you. Aim for those fallen and destroy them, slaves of mine!"
