3rd pov
In the orphanage, there was what could be considered an organized chaos. 6 people, all teens or early twenties, were gathered around a table, which was covered with cards, and underneath the cards, a map. A little behind the group of 6, stood 2 adults. They watched the group wearily, sadly, but most of their attention was on one in particular, in case he pushed himself too far with his injury.
It had only been about 4 days since Yusei had first woken up, and started working on both getting better and battle plans for the enemies monsters. Not only did Yusei have prior knowledge of the world, he also knew the cards and had experience fighting against monsters that were real. He would be the best person to teach the other 5 how to deal with this opponent.
"Yusei, surely this can wait until you're healed more! The wound has barely scabbed over and you could still easily break it open and start bleeding if you're not careful! And you 5. I thought you'd be keeping him in bed, not letting him walk around and plan battles within 2 days. I thought you were taking care of him!"
"Martha, we are taking care of him. He's getting sleep, he's eating all the food we give him, and he's sitting down and resting when we ask, because he knows how much we care for him and how much we simply ask, simply because we care and for no other reason. He is getting better. The wound is almost gone, and at this point, I don't think we can really afford to not take his hints and experience as it is."
"Martha, the kid has a point. I've checked Yusei's wound and he is doing much better than I expected. As long as he keeps sleeping, eating and resting, he'll be fine. Especially since, once they are done, they can take him back with them, to a time when they have better medicine, and actual hospitals that still stand and don't require 2 years worth of paychecks."
"...Fine. Doctor, let me pay you before you go-"
"No need. Yusei is going to save us all, and he's still so young. There's no way I'm going to charge you, especially since if he were to remain here, he would've died and I wouldn't have been able to help. I will, be taking my leave, since I pushed it by waiting another 5 days since I was going to return."
The doctor turned and left the room, knowing he'd probably be in trouble. Fearing for the patients life, the doctor had held back his return date for 5 days, and had not given his coworkers, family or boss any notice beforehand. Martha sighed and looked over the group, but decided she'd be better off keeping the kids contained and away from them, and so got up and marched out of the room, voice ringing through the halls, correcting the kids and settling arguments.
"Yusei, are you sure this will work?"
"Not completely, but the only way to fight a monster, is with another monster. I need to figure out how to pull my monsters into reality, but with the only ally I know about being on ends with me, I'll have to figure it out myself. Plus, you guys aren't used to this low amount of spirit and thus don't have the ability to do it. I grew up here and am completely used to it. I wonder if this will work... or maybe...."
As Yusei started mumbling to himself, the other 5 - yes, even Kaiba - exchanged glances, all amused and now used to the adults actions in front of them. They all may be in their late teens, but Yusei had lived past the life expectancy of many people, especially those born in Satellite. With another glance they decided it was time for a break and moved as one. Kaiba and Joey left the room, heading for the room they'd taken as theirs the night after Yusei had started recovering. Tristan and Tea went towards the kitchen to get snacks and drinks, while Yugi and Yami gathered up the cards and Yusei himself and began to usher him to the stairs.
"But-!"
"No buts, you need to rest. You may not be in constant pain, but the wound still exists and opening it will hurt you. You need to rest and give your body chances to actually heal itself, without being under pressure. So, you will be napping, while we continue to work on what you've told us, because guess what! We duel too, and thus, despite not completely understand the way you duel here, we understand enough to figure or attempt to figure something out, while you are asleep."
