THESE past weeks have been tough for you. You applied for scholarships, took college entrance exams, and enrolled in an English class in an academy for the summer. You promised yourself that once you finish college, you'll go abroad, either to USA or Canada, to work there. Thinking you'd probably earn more money.
You walked through the corridor of your building after going to the cafeteria. A voice echoed in the hall. Almost all of the people stopped what they were doing. You looked up at the speakers above you and listened to the announcement.
"Good morning, everyone. Calling the attention of all the members of our basketball and cheerleading teams to proceed now to the gymnasium. Asap. Thank you."
You heaved a heavy sigh from what you had heard. You were preoccupied with the thought that after this week, you could take a break and rest, to the point that you forget your upcoming cheerleading competition. You were a member of your school's cheerleading team from your eighth grade until this year which will be your last year.
You proceeded to the gymnasium and saw that some members were already there. But there was one who caught your attention, the basketball team captain, Kang Seungsik.
You don't know when it started, but you know you liked him. Well, wouldn't you fall for him? A student council member, an athlete, a consistent honor student, and owning a voice that you'll always want to hear.
"Just a perfect guy." You yelled out as you stared at him while he dribbled the ball with his co-members, warming up themselves. You blushed at the thought of yours.
He waved at you and smiled. You felt your heart pounding with just a simple gesture from him. You waved back. You became close to each other because of basketball and cheerleading competition since eighth grade and eventually became friends.
After waiting a few minutes, the basketball and cheerleading teams were already completed. Coach Huhgak for basketball and Coach Eunji for cheerleading popped into the gymnasium entrance.
"Good morning, everyone." Coach Hyunsik started. "First of all, congratulations on entering the finals, as expected. We only have two weeks left for preparation and practice; because of this, we will also be practicing on weekends."
You heard a lot groaned and also you, mentally.
Coach Eunji stepped in front and put her arms to her chest. "Be quiet, kids! We have a crown to defend and can't afford to lose that. We gotta show that our fire is still burning."
You all nodded in response and agreed with her. For four years, you owned the crown as champions for both basketball and cheerleading. Indeed, you can't afford to lose that, especially not now.
The meeting went well; they handed the new jerseys and cheerleading outfits. They are reminded that your practice will start tomorrow at precisely 8 a.m.
You rushed to your classroom and got off all your things. You saw him waiting for you when you walked to the school gate. You always went home together as you lived on the same street.
"Let's go." You said as you poked his arm.
He smiled and nodded. "I thought you gonna took an eternity."
You playfully rolled your eyes at him and walked fast first.
"Hey, Y/N! I was kidding! Could you wait for me? But I thought."
You ignored him and walked even faster. He runs to chase you.
"Gotcha!" He said as he got your bag and held it up. You faced him with your pouty lips. "Let's grab a snack first. And stop doing that..."

D-day!
You heard a loud cheer as you entered the venue. A lot of banners were held up high. You felt a little nervous to see the massive audience compared to last year. Many students from different schools were at the venue to witness the competition, especially your school.
"You gotta do your best, Y/N! This will be your last year performing!" He slightly nudged you.
"Yah!" You punched his arm. "You too!"

You finished your performance with a blast. Resounding applause filled your ears. Right after that, the basketball teams were called. You heard a lot of cheering for Seungsik.
"Fighting!" You mouthed him as he looked at you. He gave two thumbs up and a winked, which makes your heart melt.
You watched Seungsik with so much adoration. You were bewildered by his moves, and you were awed as he passed his opponents swiftly, then dunked, making the crowd go wilder.

The competition finished with the announcement of the winner. Your school won and is still the defending champion for basketball and cheerleading teams. You guys gathered in the middle, jumping while throwing your ruffles into the air and shouting. While enjoying the moment, you accidentally bump into someone. Your butt hit the floor, and you whined.
"I-I'm so sorry, Y/N!" You looked up and saw Seungsik extending his hands to you and looking at you worriedly. "Are you okay? Well, I'm stupid with that question. You aren't."
You let out a little laugh and held his hands. When you had already composed yourself, he gripped your hands. He pulled you close to him. His one hand wrapped around you. He leaned his face closer. Your faces were only a few inches away from each other. He stared into your eyes as if he saw his future at you.
Remaining the distance, he began to talk. "You looked so beautiful. The way you performed was so stunning. I like the way you make me smile. Would you mind if I looked at your eyes closed?"
He leaned closer to you, touching your nose before you even answered him. You want to look away and avoid his deep eyes, but you can't. Your eyes and his eyes were locked.
"What are you saying and doing, Sik?"
You can feel his breathing as he leans closer to you. Now, his forehead touched yours. He closed his eyes. You never saw him peaceful. He started to hum a song. "I wanna be last, yeah. Baby, let me be your - let me be your last first kiss."
"Y/N, Would you mind if I..." He paused and slowly looked down at your lips. He looks back into your eyes and wiggles his eyebrows. Your cheeks were turning red. He was widely smiling and pecked your lips.
"You made this day even more special, Y/N. I never thought that the girl I loved for a long time would be mine now. Lets grab dinner together tonight, okay?"
"I'd love to!" You said loudly, making it obvious that you were excited.
