Anna
Two days later me, Gwen and our two other roommates Emily and Sierra are crowded in the bathroom doing our makeup before the women's hockey game. "Guys thanks for coming to this with me" Sierra stops brushing eyeshadow on her eye and smiles, "girl don't even worry, this is gonna be a great girls night" she exclaims, "I agree with her" Emily pipes up as she swipes on her mascara, "ditto" Gwen replies, I grin at my friends and finish doing my makeup. I leave the bathroom going back to my room to change into the Badgers gear I bought a few days earlier.
"Let's get this show on the road gals!" Gwen yells as we step out of the house, I lock the front door before making my way to the car where my three friends are. "Anna gets shotgun since this is a part of her grad list" I laugh but don't object as I slide into the passenger seat. We sing along to the radio on the way to the Kohl Center (above), with shared stories and laughs mixed in to the drive. When the car is parked we get out, I adjust my UW hoodie and the red ribbon that's tied into my hair before the four of us walk to the entrance. Once in the arena we make our way to the box office to buy some student tickets.
"This is going to be so fun!" Sierra exclaims as we find our seats in the lower bowl of the arena, "I hope so, I need this kind of excitement in my life" I chime in making all of my friend laugh. My gaze scans the crowd curiously as we wait for the game to start, "looking for someone?" Emily asks, "nope, just taking in the atmosphere" she nods before looking down at her phone again. "Anna what if you meet the guy for number three on your list?" I look at Gwen and laugh, "yeah right, like that's gonna happen" she rolls her eyes but smiles, "you never know though" Sierra nudges me, "what if it's one of the hockey guys, that would be epic" I grin, "that won't happen, but Gwen has herself a hockey boy" Emily's head snaps up at my words, "G you're dating a hockey player?" the aforementioned friend glares at me, "we aren't dating we're just friends, plus we only talk when we're in math class" I wiggle my eyebrows at her and she huffs as she turns her gaze away from us. "I've never met the guy, but I ship it" I whisper to Emily, she giggles.
As the first period of the game ends I join Gwen to get some snacks from the concourse. "So this was a great idea, I would definitely go to more of these games" she links our arms with a smile, "are you turning into a hockey fan?" I shrug, "maybe" she laughs, "I never thought this day would happen" I smile and roll my eyes. "Hey Gwen!" she turns her head and stops walking making me do the same, "hey Graham, what are you doing here?" a tall brunette and his blonde friend come over, "checking out our friends on the girls team" he replies as he smiles at her. "What are you doing here? I didn't think you were a big sports fan" she tugs on me drawing their attention to me, I smile shyly and wave, "my friend Anna wanted to see a game before she graduates, it's one of the things on her list" the brunette lifts an eyebrow, "a list you say, is that why you asked about upcoming parties?" Gwen nods and smiles up at him. I look at the blonde guy next to Graham to see him looking at me already, I blush slightly at his intense gaze, he grins before holding out a hand, "I'm Eli, I play hockey with Graham" I smile and slip my hand into his shaking it gently, "i'm Anna but you already knew that" he laughs. "It was great to see you G, but me and Anna are on snack duty so we gotta get food and bring it back to our friends" I let go of Eli's hand and turn back to Gwen, "it was great to meet you guys" I add before she pulls us to the concession stand.
"Oh my god they're gorgeous, you need to make your move on Graham" I tell Gwen as we wait for our food, "he wouldn't want to be with me i'm nothing like the girls hockey players hang out with" I hit her arm, "shut up Gwen, you're amazing and any guy would be lucky to have you, plus he seemed to really like talking to you back there" she shrugs. "I'm surprised you noticed us, you were all gooey eyed for Eli and he was the same way to you" I blush, "oh shut up it was nothing" she sticks her tongue out, "not so fun is it?" I scoff, "fine point taken, but we'll probably never see each other again, so it doesn't matter" she smiles, "never say never" I roll my eyes. When our food is ready we each grab some stuff before walking back to our seats where Emily and Sierra are talking. "Where have you guys been? it's been forever" I pass the food around before sitting, "we ran into Gwen's hockey guy Graham and his teammate Eli" Sierra squeals making me cringe, "is her gorgeous?" I nod as I stuff some popcorn into my mouth, "Anna was getting a little cosy with Eli" Gwen exclaims making Emily grin as she looks at me, "look at you guys snatching up the hockey players at this school" I shrug trying not to overthink what happened with Eli.
Before we know it the game is over with the UW girls winning 5-1 against Minnesota. The four of us cheer when the team salutes the crowd, when the players leave the ice we gather our belongings and walk up the aisle to leave the arena. Once we're back outside and walking towards the car Sierra links our arms, "you going to shoot your shot with this Eli guy?" I shake my head, "not a chance" she pouts, "why not? i'm sure he's great" I shrug, "he's not my type" she snorts, "okay whatever makes you sleep at night" I roll my eyes as I climb into the car. "Gwen are you going to test the dating waters with Graham?" Sierra asks when we're all seated, "I don't know, maybe" she replies making us all smile, "DO IT!" Emily chimes in making us laugh, "I agree with her, do it, you guys would be so cute together" Gwen bites her lip as she drives back to the house.
