Chapter 13

I'm back in front of Lilly in the white space. We are mere inches apart and both of us are leaning in. As our lips graze each others I feel her being pulled away from me. I open my eyes to see Lilly being dragged off by the air. She screams and I'm suddenly in someones bedroom. I look around to find Lilly screaming and trying to get away from a man. Oh no! He grabs her leg and I can't move to stop him. The sound of Lilly's screams fill my ears as I cringe at the dreadful sound trying to cover my ears and squeeze my eyes shut.

I shoot up from the ground accidentally knocking Lilly off of me. "STOP!!"

"Ash?" Lilly asks in shock. "What's wrong?" I put my head in my hands and try to catch my breath. "Ash, talk to me." I feel Lilly put her hand on my shoulder.

"Are you okay?" I ask her.

"Me? I'm fine. Are you?" She asks.

"I'm sorry for waking you up." I say with my head still in my hands.

"It's okay. Just, tell me what's wrong."

"Just a bad dream." I tell her.

"Do you want to talk about it?" She asks softly. I shake my head. "Okay, do you think you could go back to sleep?" I shake my head again. "Okay." I feel her rest her head on my back as she moves her hand across my back to my other shoulder.

"You can sleep if you're tired." I tell her.

"Not until I know you'll be okay." She says.

"I will be." I tell her but she stays where she is. I look at my watch to see that it's 2 in the morning. I let out a sigh. "Lilly?"

"Yeah?"

"Have you ever had a dream that went from amazing to completely horrifying?" I ask.

"Yeah." She says. "They suck. Was that what happened?"

"Yeah." I whisper as I look over the moon lit landscape. Lilly's head leaves my back and she moves so she's right next to me.

"What ever happened in your dream. It wasn't real. Just something your imagination came up with to scare you." She kisses my cheek and I look into her eyes.

"What would I do without you?" I ask with a smile.

"I don't think I want to know, that would mean I can't kiss you." She smiles.

"True." I look back at the view of the town. Lilly rests her head on my shoulder. "Can I tell you something?"

"Anything." She says.

"I'm in love with a vampire." I smile.

"Thankfully." Lilly says. I chuckle. I gust of wind goes by causing Lilly to shiver. Just because we're vampires doesn't mean you don't get cold. I take my jacket off and wrap it around Lilly's shoulders. "You need to stay warm." Lilly tries to give my jacket back.

"I'm fine." I stop her and keep my arm around her.

"You're wearing a t-shirt." She points out.

"Good observation." I smirk at her.

"Ash." She says in a warning tone.

"Yes?"

"Don't test me." She says.

"What is the square root of pi?" I test.

"Really?" She asks.

"I tested you, what you gonna do 'bout it?" I hold my smirk.

"This." Before I can stop her she straddles me and starts kissing all over my face. I laugh and she pulls back. I rest my hands on her lower back.

"I think I want to test you more." I smile. She laughs at me and plants a kiss on my lips before getting off of me. We both lay back and I turn on my side to look at her. She smiles at me and I wrap my arm around her waist. She turns the other way and I nuzzle my face into the crook of her neck. She smells amazing. I fall asleep only minutes later. This is how I want to stay. With Lilly.
