Sorry for the late update.
Clinks of wine glasses rang around the room, all of them sealing the night for the rest of the time that they were going to be together. Freddie and Brian stood around the area where Roger and John sat on the couch, ready to call it quits and be done for the night but that couldn't happen without enjoying the moment that they shared. Celebrating Roger's new position that he was most proud of, that could've only meant one thing, have a night with the people that he cared for. Of anything else that he could've chosen from, there was no doubt in his choice to go with the latter option to be surrounded with everything he ever wanted. There were no regrets in mind, only the longing of wanting to be with the people that he knew cared about him and that he cared for back.
This was all he wanted and he was finally getting what he'd aspired to reach for such a long time. There was no strings attached, which was a strange but at the same time a comforting thing, even if he wasn't used to it. It wasn't like he was about to complain, that wouldn't happen. Anything he could get he would take no matter how unnerving and unusual it came off to him. This was a rare occurrence in itself and he wasn't about to ruin it for himself to be brought back into the reality of things and how anything could knock his life out of place with a single thing going wrong. Laying back and taking a drink, he enjoyed the moment as it was, a second of calmness within the mess that was his life. John sat on the other side of the couch, lounging around as he pleased, the others standing around and getting lost in their own worlds. No words were spoken, the place being filled with a silence not of that in an unsettling manner, more of in a peaceful way, where they knew what the others were thinking but not having to say a single word. It went on for a few seconds before the silence was broken.
"Be right back, I'm getting more to drink, join me Brian?" Freddie suggested.
Not stopping to wait around, his response came through without hesitation.
"One more drink wouldn't hurt," he followed behind Freddie, going out of sight. With that, the scene fell into the silence that it was previously, only John and him. Nothing could've been better than the moment he was in, no worries around to haunt his thoughts and creep in at any given time. Not too long of a wait until Brian came back around, taking a drink from his glass. Freddie was still nowhere to be seen, he must've really wanted to get more drunk than he already was, but Brian held back, that was what it appeared to Roger as he was more composed at the moment. A yearning expression took place on Brian's face and that could've only meant one thing, he was wondering something. Roger knew when he put that face on, it was never a good thing, it being a sign of trouble and he was going to figure out what it was real quick before Brian hid it away. Ready to say something, he was beat to it with an unexpected question that brought his unresolved problems back into mind.
"Rog, it confuses me. Remember those attacks? They were all so similar, could it be possible that they were caused by the same figure that we are after?"
Oh no, it all started to make sense and not in a good way. The words that were on the brink of coming out were wiped out with his mind going blank, not able to think straight anymore. But then again, anything could've been possible at the point that they were in. There was no denying it, Brian was onto something that could've meant the final answer to the mystery of the night when Roger's life took a turn in a different direction. The worries were on their way back to mind. At least that was what he thought before they came out of nowhere without warning. There was no time to prepare whatsoever and that was the perfect chance for the worries to come shake his world up at full blast, no mercy on him at all. It wasn't like if he did have the time that he would be anymore ready to hear the words that came along his way.
"I did it!"
John fell to the ground on his knees, crying out of his mind. The tears streaming down his face in floods and looking up to the others in remorse. The desperate need to be forgiven overtook his eyes, prominent in the mixes of other emotions that he held within him. There was no other conclusions as to what he was referring to, everything was clear to them. He was—
