Chapter 5
Natalie
The rest of the day sucked. I didn't have Lizzie at all in any of my classes, for the rest of the day. In fact, I didn't have any one I knew or had met. I was at my locker when Lizzie came running towards me.
"Natalie! Hey!" She yelled.
"Hey! What goes on?" I asked as I shut my locker.
"Nothing much, just came to ask you if you needed a ride home?"
"Sure, I don't see Ryan anywhere, so I might as well go with you."
"It sounds depressing when you put it that way." She told.
"Ha! No, I'm just saying... You know what I mean!"
We laughed as I picked up my backpack and walked down the hallway, outside.
"Yeah, I know." She responded.
We walked towards her huge black truck. Trust me, when I say huge I mean huge. If I had to estimate the size of it, I'd say about 10ft tall and 18-20ft wide.
"Dang, Lizzie. Love your truck."
"Thank you! Took forever to save up for, but I finally have it."
"Awesome! Oh! That reminds me. My mom is getting my phone one of these days. Can you give me your number? Because, you know. I'm lonely and have no friends." I told.
She laughed as she got a pen out of her backpack.
"Sure, and you're just new here. It'll take some time for you to make friends. Plus, everyone already likes you." She explained as she scribbled down her number and handed it to me.
"Thanks, and yeah, 'cuz of Ryan."
"Ryan or no Ryan, everyone would have liked you anyway."
"Yeah. Sure." I replied.
I was about to get in until Ryan ran towards us yelling my name.
"Natalie! Natalie! Oh my god... finally you... hear me." He told as he grasped for air.
After catching his breathe, he talks again.
"What are you guys doing?" He asked.
"I'm going home, duh." I responded.
"Then why aren't you with me?"
"Because Lizzie is takin me home Ryan."
"Oh, okay."
"If you want you can go with Ryan. I mean I only volunteered because she was alone and I thought she needed a ride, so yeah." Lizzie told.
"I don't think Ryan would mind you taking me home. He isn't my dad anyways." I told.
"Of course I don't, I just didn't know if she knew where we lived. Please don't feel offended Lizzie." Ryan explained.
"Oh I don't! It's fine!" She gave an ear to ear smile. "Besides, I forgot you two live together and it's true, I don't know where you live."
"Well, I can give you directions." I told.
"Natalie! I've known you for one day and I already know you're going to be stubborn! Just go with Ryan, I'll see you tomorrow." She told with a smile.
She walked toward the drivers seat.
"I'm not stubborn! By the way!" I smiled at her and she just smiled and shook her head side to side.
