1. Scent

Belle Evans

I had never noticed him before. My friend had often talked about him before, but I never knew a human being could look so flawless within the minute I caught a glimpse. His black hair was slicked back and he was wearing a leather jacket.

He smelled like a mix of roses and axe cologne; it was heavenly.

"Do you know Zayn Malik? He's on Varsity Tennis," Kayla asked.

"I've heard of that name, why?"

"He's like literally obsessed with me." Kayla goes on and on about how this guy is allegedly obsessed with her and how he always follows her around like a lost puppy.

"What grade is he in?" I asked.

"He's a Junior," she said proudly.

We were halfway out of the cafeteria whenever someone called out Kayla's name and we both turned around to see a tall figure approaching us somewhat speed-walking. He was wearing a leather jacket, khaki colored skinny jeans, and brown Sperrys.

I got just a whiff of what he smelled like and it was Heaven. He hugged Kayla very tightly, while she looked very disinterested. He talked to her while we walked to class and she looked like she could care less.

"Wait, that was Zayn?" I questioned.

"Yeah, he's pretty weird, isn't he?" She laughed.

"I actually thought he was quite cute."

"Ooh really? Aw, little Belle has a crush!" Kayla teased.

"Yeah right, all I said is that he was cute! I only saw him for like 5 minutes anyways!" I could feel myself start to blush. Anytime I am around people talking about boys, I get nervous.

While walking home from the bus stop I hear footsteps walking very fast behind me and I turn around to see my friend, Harry trying to catch up with me.

"Hey Harry," I smiled at him.

"Hey Belle, how was your day?" He asked a little out of breath.

"It was actually nice, how was yours?"

"Good," he smiled back.

"Hey, do you know Zayn Malik? Isn't he on Varsity Tennis with you?"

"Yes..." Harry dragged out his words. "Why?"

"I'm just wondering. I saw him today and I think he's kind of cute."

I tell Harry everything and he knows everything about me. We are best friends.

"I think you two would be really cute together, honestly."
