"Since we never can decide on a movie that everyone likes, I chose the three first movies that was on the top ten list. So we just have to deal with it." Luke say and everyone chuckles. I smile as he puts on the first movie. Daniel picks a soda up for me and I take it gladly.
The first movie was funny, we all laughed. It was a comedy, very easy to look at and feel good to. Zeke and Erica was on one couch, Luke and Thomas on another and me and Daniel was on the third couch and Link sat on a armchair. The room was dark, but I could still see everyone from the light coming from the kitchen. The second movie was pretty hard to understand. Or it was more that it was that kind of movie that you really had to concentrate on to keep up with and I don't think anyone of us had that capacity tonight. Everybody seemed pretty tired.
I picked up my can of soda from the side table beside me. It was empty. I looked over at the table and there was no soda left there either, I had to go to the kitchen to get a new one. I then realized that I was stuck and couldn't do that. Because Daniel had his legs over mine and looking over at him, he was sleeping deep. I smiled and shook my head. I looked over at the soda can again, I was so thirsty. Those chips had been so salty and my mouth felt like a desert. I considered waking Daniel up, but that felt so mean, so I just had to deal with the thirst. I turned back to the TV and tried my best to ignore my thirst and to follow along in the story, but I was lost.
After a couple of minutes I got scared when someone stood in front of me. I think my mind had floated away from the story and taken me somewhere else. I look up to see Link stand a couple of feet away, holding out a can of soda at me. I looked at the soda with uncomprehending eyes. What was this? I looked up at him, still not understanding what he was doing. His eyebrows raised and he held the can closer to me. I took it with shaky hands and as he walked back to sit on his chair I looked after him with shock. Did he just do something nice for me? Was I dreaming? I looked over at the others. I think most of them was sleeping, except Thomas who sat just under the TV with big eyes, dedicated to the story.
I sit, staring out into nothingness, before I realize that I should open the soda and drink since my throat is dry and itching. After I've taken a couple of sips, I look over at Link again. I don't know if it's my slow brain or what it is, but I can't comprehend this. He was nice to me, no sexual comment or anything? I wished Daniel had been awake so he could tell me if it really happened or not.
I feel my phone buzz in my pocket. It's Lea. I try to push Daniel's legs off of me and Link is there all of a sudden to help me. I stand up and he drops down Daniel's feet on the couch, who hasn't even noticed us moving him.
"Thanks." I mumble shakily before walking into the kitchen and closing the door.
"Hello?" I say into the phone as I sit down on one of the chairs at Luke's dinner table. He has a very stylish home, very simple but well thought out.
"Hey girl!" Lea's always happy voice say. "How's it going? How did last night go?" She asks curious.
"It was okay, I can't really talk about it now. I'm at Luke's, we're watching a movie." I say low, I don't want the others to hear me.
"You and Luke are watching a movie together?" She shouts into the phone with sudden shock.
"What? No! Well...yes, but the others are here too." I say frowning. What did she think of me? Did she think I was that much of a slut that I'd go after three guys from the same football team? Well, not go after. I hadn't really gone after anyone. I didn't even know who Link was when I slept with him.
Argh! Now I was thinking about that. Thanks Lea!
"Oh, well that's nice. So, is he there?" She ask, sounding flirtatious.
