I wake up by my phone beeping, it's time to go to work. I yawn as I sit up, I feel really exhausted. My mind wouldn't stop working last night, I thought about everything that happened during dinner and of course what happened before he left. Did I misinterpret the whole date? I thought we hit it off really good, the conversation flowed on well and we laughed a lot. I groan before pulling myself out of bed and pulling a pair of jeans on and a hoodie. It's a hoodie-day today. I don't really feel like dressing up. I actually feel like getting back into bed and staying there the rest of the day, but I can't do that to Lea who would be alone at The Bakery if I did.
After splashing water on my face, brushing my teeth and putting my shoes on, I walk out into the rain and groan. Why didn't I look out the window before leaving my apartment? I walk back to get my umbrella and then head out into the pouring rain. It's a good thing to live so close to work, I don't have to take the buss or walk for too long.
I soon reach to the door of The Bakery. It's locked since no ones there yet and I pull my keys out and open up the door. I put my umbrella and jacket in the little room behind the disk, before I start taking the chairs down from the tables. When I'm done I start making the sandwiches for todays breakfast and that's when Lea walks through the door.
"Hi." She say very happily.
"Hello." I answer, my voice not as happy. I'd really like to lay on the couch watching movies right now.
"What's with you?" She asks, feeling my bitterness.
"Just tired." I say and continue with the sandwiches.
"Oh, really?" She say and as I look over at her, her eyebrows is jumping up and down. "What did you do last night?" She's teasing. I give her an irritated stare and go back to the sandwiches. "Oh, sorry!" she pulls back, holding her hands up. After putting her things in the back room, she comes to stay beside me. "What happened?" She asks, now in a sweet voice. I sigh.
"I don't know. I guess I misinterpreted the hole thing." I say and sigh as I put a couple finished sandwiches away.
"What do you mean?" She's standing with her back against the counter and looking at me. I keep my eyes down at what I'm doing, still a little embarrassed over the whole thing.
"I thought he was about to kiss me goodnight, when he didn't. He opted for the cheek." I say and go to open up the cash register. The images flashing through my head. Ah! He definitely think I'm a looser now.
"I'm sorry!" Lea say and hug me from behind. I can't keep from smiling, she's a very affectionate person. "So you think that's it?" She asks as she lets go of me.
"Yeah! It's not like he's going to call after that. I was pretty obvious as to what I had thought." I sigh again as the doors open and our first customer comes through.
"Don't worry, I'll find you someone else." She say, making me laugh. She's insane.
"No thank you, I'll manage on my own." I say before turning towards the man standing in front of the disk. "Hi, how can I help you?" I ask and Lea goes to fix some cookies.
"Oh my gawd!" Lea say as she brings her phone up after the breakfast crowed has slowed and we get a little break before the lunch starts. We need to make salads and sandwiches but we get a little time to drink some water and take a breath.
"What?" I ask, taking a sip of my water as she stares at me with a huge grin.
"I just got an text from Daniel." I frown at her words.
"So?" I ask a little irritated. I don't want to know that he's texting her, what is he flirting with her now?
"He is asking if it's too early to call a girl the day after a date?" She say, raising her eyebrow and look a little cockily at me. What? He say what? "So...is it?" She asks, nudging me in the side.
