Seonghwa was sitting at the dinner table with the suspected Yunho, food untouched. His expression lightens up at the sight of his siblings, both of whom were still play fighting. Wooyoung's hand remain intertwined with mine while San pushes him back and forth, causing me to sway with him. I almost want to break free and wrangle my hands around both of their necks.
Wooyoung once again hauls me off, seating me right next to Seonghwa and the twins seated across. "Ah, dinner actually looks edible today. Is the chef here?"
Seonghwa nods.
"Great because your cooking is no bueno," Wooyoung reaches for the pitcher.
"No bueno?" San narrows his eyes.
His twin nods. "Yeah, I've just started my Spanish lessons on Rosetta Stone. I think I'm going to be fluent by the end of the year."
The two then proceed to argue over who would end up being more fluent than the other and I'm suddenly reminded of my childhood. It was like this, in a way, only with more underlying emotions. None of my brothers wanted to admit that they saw each other as competitions but we all knew it. These guys, however, were different.
It was a familial kind of bickering, the one siblings should have.
"Sorry about my brothers, I know they can be a handful," my fiancé says to me. His gaze is apologetic yet unnerving altogether, there was something about his expressions that confused me. His features were one way yet his eyes were another.
"It's fine."
"I heard you're finishing school this semester," says Yunho. He had a friendly aura to him despite being so big and intimidating, like a friendly giant. Yunho looked like the type to put on a tough guy persona but was secretly a sensitive soul. I was intrigued and contemplated whether or not I wanted to find out for myself.
On another note, I'd better not. Not with my fiancé's best friend. That's just a disaster waiting to happen— I've seen it all before.
So I just nod.
"Then you should have the wedding in the summer. That leaves about another six months after she graduates to plan," says Yunho as he looks to Seonghwa. "I'm sure your bride-to-be wants time to plan her own wedding."
Seonghwa looks indifferent to it all. It doesn't take a genius to know that he'd rather just hire professionals and get it all over with. And while that didn't phase me, I still wanted it to be extravagant and worthy of my name. It's true that I didn't want to get married, nor to be tied down, but if I was going to have a wedding— I want it to be legendary.
"Yes and I'm assuming that all expenses will be paid for?" I look at Seonghwa.
His brow raises only slightly. I can tell that he's surprised by my indication of interest in the wedding at all. "That's not a problem."
"I'm the best man," San raises his fork and a piece of meat goes flying across the table.
Everyone watches so casually as he leans over the table to retrieve his meat and put it in his mouth as if this was a normal occurrence. Seonghwa shows no reaction to his little brother's foolishness but Wooyoung, however, let on more than anyone. The twin knocked shoulders with his brother and insisted he apologize for being so rude in front of me.
"Sorry," San lowers his head in disappointment and proceeds to eat his dinner quietly.
"We'll discuss details later, as for now what's most important is that everyone gets settled in. Monday— the three of you will return to school," says Seonghwa who begins eating.
