Sloane didn't understand what she was feeling. Her heart ached yet she couldn't help but want to scream, scream and scream for the rest of her life. It wasn't fair, and she felt bad that her brain repeated it over and over. Cassie was able to bury her mother, she was able to say goodbye. But Sloane? She wasn't even able to go to the funeral, to say goodbye to Aaron. She's begged her father but it was the same harsh response.
"You were nothing to him"
So standing here watching as Cassie laid flowers on the grave made Sloane's stomach churn. She wanted to say goodbye to Aaron, she wanted to lay flowers on his grave. He was the only one who had paid attention to her. Shaking her head she looked down, avoiding Michaels prying eyes. She let her mind drift to everything she knew about Aaron. His social security number, the way he looked at Tory, how he looked at her.
"Hey, time to go" Judd gently tapped Sloane on the chin to make her look up. The instant she met his eyes she broke. Judd knew exactly what she was feeling, he had seen it from the moment the funeral began. He wrapped his arms around her and rubbed her back. For Sloane, Judd was the parental figure who hadn't left her.
"We can see his grave anytime you want Sloane, I don't give a damn your father said no, we Will visit it" Sloane nodded into his chest as she clung on for dear life. For the first time she understood what she was feeling.
