Briggs watched as Cassie joined the others in the seats behind him and glanced at Veronica. She sat the aisle over and carefully read through the folder for the hundredth time even though he knew she knew the information inside and out. He waited for the kids to start talking before looking right at her.
"Are we gonna talk about it?" He cursed at how awkward he sounded. Veronica slightly rose her eyebrow and cleared her throat, her gray eyes met his.
"There is a good chance they will hear us Tanner, we would never hear the end of it." She went back to her file, but Tanner couldn't ignore the slight blush that tainted her cheeks.
"They didn't hear any of that," he whispered and the blush got more rosey, even a small smile formed on her lips. Having Michael and Cassie gone over the winter break ment Judd could take the remaining three out to the grocery store and not have to worry about a prank war, which ment Tanner and Veronica had more than two hours of alone time in between work. They weren't back together by any means, but one night, one thing led to another and suddenly Veronica was in nothing but her underwear and bra while Tanner only sported his boxers. They hadn't gone anywhere near each other since.
"When we land in Vegas, well debrief more," Veronica stood up and winked at Tanner and she directed her statement towards the teens, "but for now, let me fill you in on the basics."
