Day 10

Sterling and Briggs wedding day take 2

Veronica sat on the hotel bed, a fluffy robe wrapped around her body as she waited for Celine to get the make up from her bathroom.

"I'm gonna do a simple silvery eye on you, I don't want to dull your eye color so I am just going to do some mascara, no liner" Sterling nodded and Celine went to work. it was hard for her to realize she was marrying the same man for the second time, three years ago she had turned him down after their Masters case. But after two years of him endlessly flirting and charming her, she finally said yes. Briggs was the only one she could ever see herself with anyways.

"Oh you're so pretty" Sterling smiled as Cassie, Sloane and Lia walked in. She and Briggs had decided that the kids would be their brides maids and Groomsmen, partially because Lia and Michael wouldn't give up, but they were the reason she and Briggs came together again. It was a thank you to them.

"Done" Celine stepped back and held up a mirror for Veronica to look in. her eyelids sparkled and eyelashes popped, but her gray eyes seemed bigger and brighter then she had remembered them being.

"The pre wedding glow suits you" Lia said as she twirled a hot iron in her hand "Now, don't move unless you want a huge burn mark across your face on your wedding day" Veronica raised her brows but didn't say a thing as Lia carefully but quickly gave a slight curl to her brown hair, she was quite impressed at the lack of burnt hair smell.

"Oh Ronnie" They all turned to see Judd dressed in a tux smiling at them, his eyes sheen with tears. He was holding the dress she and him had picked out together. Cassie gently took the dress from him an motioned for Veronica to follow her. the dress had lace sleeves that ran up to her chest, it was pure white with a satin belt. As she stepped out, she suddenly felt the anxiety rise in her chest. She looked around the room, someone was missing. slowly she made her way to her suitcase and opened it, pulling out the picture frame she always had next to her bed. Her and Scarlett were around 8, both beaming towards the camera as Judd snapped the picture. Scarlett was her maid of Honor at her and Tanners first wedding, she missed her terribly.

"Scarlett would yell at you not to be late right about now" Judd chuckled, he could see Scarlett zipping around the room panicking. Veronica smiled and ran her hands down the front of her dress.
"I'm ready"

"I'm gonna puke" Sterling clung onto Judds hand as they waited for the door to open. He was the one giving her away.
"Just breath Ronnie" Judd said softly as the music started. Sloane turned around and beamed at Sterling before taking her basket of petals and walking out. As each one of the girls took their walk, Sterling could feel her heart racing. Finally she took a step forward and there he was. Tanner Elias Briggs stood confidently, Dean and Michael flanked him. But the moment his eyes landed on her, he teared up. She walked arm and arm with Judd as he lead her down the aisle. For the first time since Scarlett, she felt like everything had fallen perfectly in place.

"Oh Ronnie" Briggs whispered as she took her place infant of him, She could feel emotion building up in her chest as she waited for the vows to begin. Tanner when first.

"Veronica Sterling, I remember the first time I met you. We were in the same criminal justice class and I sat across from you and Scarlett" He took a moment to breath, Scarlett name still brought an unbearable weight for the three "You smiled, and instantly I could feel my heart beating out of my chest. You were and are the most gorgeous women I have ever met in my entire life. I know I messed up before, but this time I will be the best version of myself. I will take love you when your happy, when your sad, when you are in pain. I will listen when you need to be listened to, I will eternally love you forever, because you are my forever my love" He wiped a tear and looked at her. She begun.

"To my dearest, Tanner Elias Briggs, from the moment I saw you, I knew you were the one for me. I remember thinking you were way out of my league but, and I quote, Scarlett told me 'No matter how much you ignore something, you will always long for it, so go take it and hold onto it even if it's not meant to be" and I have to admit, eight years ago, I thought it wasn't meant to be. But now, standing here, after all We have been through I can say with certainty, That you are my forever, my love, my everything. I love you no matter what happens, I will always love you"  By this time no one had dry eyes. Even Judd had a couple of tears running down his face. They kissed, and the crowd went wild. the reception was one to remember. Veronica kept her dress on as Briggs spun her around the floor, their eyes never left the others. Finally it was time for a toast. Judd went first.

"I can still see Ronnie's face when she told me what her and Scarlett did all those years ago, when they got it in their minds that Cliff scaling is something young kids should do. Instantly I knew whoever loved her would be in for it. And Tanner, you have been an outstanding partner for her. yes you guys had a rough patch but it happens. What matters is now, and the future, because I will tell you, it's gonna be one hell of a ride. Buts it's gonna be so worth it in the end" He nodded and sat down.  Only two kids wanted to toast, and it was the least expected two.

"Finally Mommy and daddy are married again" Lia rolled her eyes and got a laugh from the crowd before continuing "This goes to Briggs. I remember when I was 13 the first time I met you. I was alone, and untrusting of anyone who even got within ten feet of me. But you, you decided it would be a good idea to come up behind me while another agent talked to me and scoop me up. Little did you know I had a knife. Bet you still have the scar huh?" Briggs smiled "But you didn't let go, you clung onto me, you lifted me up and carried me to the car. You told me you wouldn't let anyone hurt me and thats the first promise anyone had ever said to me since I was six that hasn't been broken. Yes you can be annoying at times but I guess I love you two more then anyone knows so, thanks for giving me a home" She passed the mic to Dean as he stood.

"And this one goes to Veronica" Dean shifted his gaze to the agent, who looked at him with wide eyes "You came back for me, you risked your life to save me and that, I can never repay you. You never stopped caring for any of us, you even tried to treat us like kids because you so fiercely needed to protect all of us from the horrors you knew came with this job. Not to be all creepy but you guys are sort of like the mom and dad of this group, your our bullet proof vest, along with Judd. and o behalf of the entire Naturals program, I want to say thank you for believing in us, even when we didn't believe in ourselves" Everyone stood and clapped. Veronica and Briggs lovingly kissed. And for the first time in all their lives, the one night seemed perfectly normal.

OOF this took me a hot second to write lol, any suggestions? I have two more chapters written out that I am editing but I need a few more haha.....
