Part 15

The brilliant sun was glaring upon us.

We had been travelling for 7 hours straight, Nathan bugging me in my mind.

"Oh come onnn" he groaned in my mind.

"Just a teeny meeny break?" He said.

"Oh you mean just as small as-" I began but Elijah cut me off by screaming
"Oi, Abigail has pure ears!"

I snorted and left it at that. Abigail was a healer. Pretty sure she knew already.

But I decided to humor both Elijah and Nathan, leaving the topic at that and calling a break.

We were flying over huge lush green forests.

"We got an hour and that's all." I said.

Hey we had been flying for 7 hours straight. Our beasts needed to rest.

"Yaaasssss!" Nathan screamed, squacking in joy.

I rolled my eyes at his childishness and slowly glided down to a clearing with a slight reduction of trees.

As soon as I touched down,I shifted, Nate and my siblings following my lead.

"Foooodddd." Nate groaned in joy.

And promptly collapsed onto the forest floor.

Elijah snickered but opened the food basket he had been carrying in his claws.

Nathan shot up as the delicious smell of the royal cook's devilishly infamous sandwiches wafted into his nose.

It had been kept warm because of magic thank God..cold sandwiches with meat and solidified cheese were disgusting.

We stuffed our mouths with the delectable food, our tastebuds exploding.

After downing a glass of lemonade to wash the mix down, Nate tugged on my hand.

I frowned at him in confusion.

Come sleep he said into my mind.

I'm patrolling.

No you arent. Elijah is. Jeez I'm not dumb An.

Alright.

I go and lie down with an exaggerated sigh next to him,my head tucked into my elbow, using it as a pillow.

The sunlight trickled in through the tiny crevices that seemed to left behind in the tree's foliage as we lay beneath it.

The vibrant green of the tree,the buttery warm sunlight caressing my cheek, the light chirps of birds far away,the dull buzz of the bees and the recent full lunch we had had, caused my eyes to get heavy.

Soon I found myself dozing off.

Nathan's POV

I was watching her as she lay next to me.

My heart twinges as I gazed at her.

I didn't care if it sounded cheesy.

But she was perfect.

An laying down next to me and the sweet smell of flowers surrounded me as I closed my eyes and drifted off to oblivion.

"Nathan..Nathan..Nate help me!" I heard An shout.

I frantically looked around trying to find her.

"An?" I yelled out. Running towards a random spot that appeared to be the source

No reply.

The sound of gushing water registered. I paled.

Andrea hated the water.

Oh Lord. Where on earth is she.

I was all out sprinting now.

My heart pumping,the blood raving in my veins.

I passed countless trees but there was no sign of An.

Anxiety creeped up my body,my body feeling both cold and hot at the same.

My heart racing as I came to a stop.

My stomach felt queasy, my breathing erratic.

I shook my head as my vision blurred.

I shuddered but I heard he screaming again.

My head shot up and I raced in the direction of her screams.

I stopped right before i fell of a a huge cliff.

"Nathan!" She yelled out.

I looked down the cliff to see a roaring stream.

Andrea was holding onto a tiny piece of rock,her footing lost, her legs hanging off the vertical side as she struggled to find a place to hook her leg onto.

"An I'm going to be climbing down now..dont let go." I said and I watched as her lilac eyes travelled up to mine in genuine terror.

I woke up with a jolt,the back of my neck heating and cooling at the same time.

I clutched at my still galloping heart as looked down to find Andrea still peacefully dozing.

I furrowed my brows as I came to terms with my surroundings.

Elijah was jogging over in my direction.

My heart had calmed when he and Abigail reached us.

"Where do we travel to next?" Eli asked.

"The Trials will be taking place in the way of the Classic elements. Earth,water,air, fire and aether. But in our case..fire will be the Volcano,and will also end up being the last. Our trials have already begun. By sunset, we will be beginning our Trial A'chiad. The First Trial." I said grimly.

They nodded their heads back.

I felt Andrea stir next to me as I played with her soft hair.

She opened her beautiful lilac eyes to my own green ones, and raised her fists to rub the sleep out of her eyes.

I grinned at her and she smiled a crooked smile,shaking her head slightly at my antics.

I gave her my hand and pulled her up to a sitting position.

Elijah and Gail were lying down now, An and I were going to be patrolling.

We got up, dusted the grass off of us and made our way to a few trees and began our patrol.
