Libra's POV
My eyes were crackling with energy, and i could feel it.
Every step resonating power, I strode into my chambers, and changed out of the heavy, bellowing gown.
Getting into fighting leathers, I strapped my hands with a thick but well weathered glove, made for agile usage of throwing knives.
Grabbing the set of weapons I held the throwing knives, testing their balance and throwing a whetting stone for my weapons into a rucksack. Taking a water pouch, another pair of leathers and some herbs in my rucksack, I rushed out.
The power in my blood trimmed as I made my way over to the temple of Vulcan.
My hands ached to throttle a specific someone who dared to insult my children.
As the huge temple of Vulcan came into view, I could feel Abhainn's calming presence, slowly ebbing the raw rage I felt flowing through my blood.
I reached the huge pavilion-like temple, making my way through the large steps made of obsidian with veins of carnelian, giving the impression of magma flowing beneath the black of the obsidian.
The entire exterior of the temple was made of this special crystal. Anyone who walked in, not only had the protection of Vulcan and Abhainn but also of the obsidian and carnelian.
Evil would never walk through the enormous doorway of the temple, the countless protective spells, crystals and the God and Goddess, Vulcan and Abhainn themselves had blessed this sanctuary. As I walked in, that last flames of fury in me cooled, fizzing out like water cooling a raging fire.
I breathed in deeply, closing my eyes, feeling the cool blues and violets of the interior before I see it. I opened my eyes, having settled myself, and I finally took in the closed dome like structure I was in. This was the Inner Sanctuary.
The cool blue of the lapis lazuli sanctuary made it seem like a calming yet protective place. One could lie down here and let the River take care of them.
This was also where the Pyramid-shaped idol dedicated to Vulcan was placed.
Giving myself a few minutes peace and calm as Abhainn soothed me, I took a deep breath, walking towards the idol of Vulcan and kneeling down.
"I require your permission to go on the Quest for you." I said, my voice resonating around the dome.
"And why would you think I would let you, a Goddess do such a thing?" A voice spoke out. It had traces of playfulness.
I should have known. He was always playful when Abhainn was around.
"Because, my lord, I am not letting my children and their mates be slaughtered for the sheer stupidity and greed of a few moronic idiots present in my husband's court." I answered.
I heard a tinkling laugh.
I turned around to find a beautiful woman, skin the colour of the deepest ocean, yet a smile so peaceful, it would calm any anxiety ever felt.
I looked into her glowing turquoise eyes as she smiled at me.
"Libra. My dear child, did you forget your vow?" She said, her eyes alight with mirth.
"Balance was my vow. Defending my family is a part of ny very soul, my lady. How am I to watch my children and their lovers be slaughtered as a way of greed fulfillment for these horrendous creatures that call themselves Gaisgeach in my husband's court? Is it not my job to give out fair judgement an justice? For those who jave fought for and trained for the role of one day leading this kingdom, is it justice to let evil rejoice? As a mother, is it justice to watch my children get slaughtered when it is in my hand to help them? When I CAN help them?" I questioned the Lady.
