(Don't forget to read the A/N at the end of the part!)

"Well, what's your favourite food?" Nate asked me as he jumped over a fallen tree.

"Really Nate. Is that the question you've been dying to ask?" I deadpanned.

"Oh come on An. I haven't seen you since we were 5. Your bestfriend literally doesnt know you. Come onnnn please?"
He whined.

I rolled my eyes. "You had like 2 months to ask these questions."
I said, not amused.

"If I had, your parents would have already started planning our marriage. And by your parents I oh so obviously mean their very generous and very open minded Council." He said seriously.

I sighed and looked at him as I came to a halt.

"Nate-" I began, only to be cut off.

"Please Andrea, my dear, please tell me more about yourself. I really do wanna know you, Empress." He said, mockingly formal.

I glared at him ut eventually gave in.

Oh whatever.

"Fine, but your answering questions for me as well Nate, or your gonna pay. With bruises." I said, threatening him playfully.

He gulped and nodded.

"No serious questions. Nothing formal. Just the little things."
He said, his face unamused.

I stared at him for a while.

His face began to crack. Aha. Finally.

And eventually he was on the ground rolling around on the muddy floor, his hands clutching his stomach.

I raised my eyebrow.

He eventually stopped his antics and came back to being a normal secretkeeper.

"Shall we begin." I said, amused.

"Finally.. is that a curl of a lip, Annie babe?" He said.

I raised both my eyebrows at him, my mouth parting open.

"No?"

I shook my head.
"Not in a million lifetimes, fool."
I said, horrified.

"Fine." He said.

"You didnt answer my question, An." He said.

I looked up from where I had been examining the mud beneath our feet.

He'd stopped in the path of the sunlight trickling in through the thick foliage.

The light hitting his face, he looked breathlessly beautiful.

High cheekbones with full pink lips.

His Dark brown hair ruffled from his roll in the mud. Light, milk chocolate eyes that took my breath away each time I looked at him, reminding e why I thought he had been a dream.

Perfect.

I shook myself out of my wondered state and opened my mouth to answer.

"Chicken nuggets." I said, blushing profusely.

I hard no response from him.

I eventually peeked up at him.

He was staring t me with those eyes again and his lips were pinched together tightly as if he was hiding in a laugh.

"The Empress of the Lands, Empress of the Warriors likes...chicken nuggets?" He said, amusement shining bright and pure in his eyes.

I huffed and began hiking around again, almost getting our patrolling done with.

" Annie." He said, amusement gone.

I didnt look at him a nd continued walking.

"ANNIE IM SOOORRRYYYY." He yowled.

I placed both my hands on my ears trying to cover them of this pathetic sound.

"Andrea, my love please find it in you heart to forgive me!" He said and clung onto my leg.

I looked down at him in shock, gaping and shook off his hold on my leg.

"Get up Nathan. Goddess I forgive you!" I said exasperated.

He grinned and stood up but his smile faded away soon.

"I really am sorry An. It was shocking is all." He said and pouted bending his head and looking up between his lashes.

I smiled st his childish acts and thwacked him on his head.

"Apology accepted, fool." I said grinning.

And that was when the world went to hell.

The ground shook beneath us, the ground rumbling, vibrations running up my legs.

I look up to find Nathan's eyes wide, the milk chocolate brown shocking me with great vigour.

"Elijah. Abigail. It's time." I said grimly through the mindlink.

I braced myself as the ground began shaking more violently, each shake seeming desperate to throw off the trees that had grown their roots to hold it in.

As the evergreens were flung off, a clearing was made.

And in the middle stood Elijah and Abigail, their backs to each other, their claymores shining in the evening sun.

Nathan and I began rushing towards the duo, but the land surrounding them began to sink in.

Oh Abhainn help us.

The land sunk lower and lower and the skies began resounding with crashes of various elements.

"The Quest for Forgiveness thee seeks to follow,

Of elements' bid, thy must allow.

For if't be true thy meets the Vulcan,

Trials 4 must be done before.

Begins now the Trial of Talamh

Use wit and strength to get back what's gone."

The words echo in our surroundings and as I look down, I find nothing but a deep chasm.

No signs of Eli or Gail.

I whipped my head to Nathan and saw grim determination.

I watched him for a few moments before stealing myself.

We had to save them. And the only way that seemed right was down.

Towards the unknown.

Towards the heart of Vulcan.

As steely determination flooded my body we began our trek to save Abigail, and finish our Trial.
