Nico and I sat together, our legs just barely touching, listening to the droning of the awful campfire songs. Nico just looked uncomfortable, like he'd rather be anyplace other than here, and I didn't doubt that, that was the case. I on the other hand just listened, glad that finally camp half blood was back to normal, for now, no prophecies, no wars, just the regular life of a demigod. You know, monsters left right and centre, hordes of ADHD demigods sitting around campfires screaming at the top of their lungs, everything was good.
"Will. Will." Nico nudged me in the ribs, trying to obtain my attention.
"Geez death boy, Whats up." I rubbed my ribs, trying to minimise the pain,
"Gods Nico, that hurt." Nico just rolled his eyes, gesturing to the crowds around us, all of them running around in either Panic or excitement, it was hard to tell with demigods. Many of them wielding celestial bronze weapons, and gods, was that imperial gold? Looks like the Romans left a few parting gifts with us. I saw Nico reach for his blade, looking just as confused as I did.
"What's going on?" I asked him despite that fact, making a grab for my bow.
"If I knew, I'd tell you, but look." He pointed to some place in the distance, where a flying blob of bronze approached.Closer it got, and the Greeks put up their defences, like usual preparing for the worst. How could you blame us, we had a 98% strike rate with it being the worst. Myself and the archers stood nearby, bows taught, preparing to try and shoot whatever the hell it was right out of the sky, before it could do any campers, any harm. Nico stood nearby me, obviously out of shooting range, but close enough that I could keep an eye on him, on doctors orders of course.
Suddenly all of our hands covered our ears, our weapons fallen.
"Ooops!" We heard reverberating through our skulls. "Don't shoot! It's me, Hot stuff, Leo Valdez!! I have some people with me!! I apologise for the noise, it's a prototype!!" It had to have been, the loudest thing I had ever heard in my life. The noise was excruciating, worse than my whistling.
In the very near distance, we saw none other than that blasted bronze Dragon Festus, flying toward us at top speed, bearing 3 demigods, or what I assumed to be. Leo sat up front, his hair, disheveled in the wind. Behind him was a girl, who looked none other than stunning, whose arms wrapped perfectly around his waist. And then, looking to keep as much distance as possible, a young looking girl, about 12, with short black hair, sat, radiating an aura of darkness and power.
Whooping and cheers took over the crowd, everyone's weapons finally sheathed, as the excitement caused for celebration.
"Well hades for real." I jumped out of my skin, as Nico was suddenly behind me, he needed a bell that one. "A boy I thought dead, an immortal goddess and a daughter of hades? I swear on the gods I am dreaming." What.... An immoral goddess... Daughter of hades,"Wait, Nico, what in the name of Zeus are you talking about." I received no answer, as Nico was already in the distance.
I hope I'm not rushing things for you!
We meet our special girl with black hair in the next chapter!
