Jenna/September 27, 2016 [firehouse]

I walk over to my locker and open it as I see kelly getting out of the shower, "good morning" he says kissing my head "good morning lieutenant" I respond

"Oh I'm just lieutenant now??" He says with an amused face.

"Yes kelly, what we are doing is wrong. We shouldn't be making moves on each other in the firehouse. It's unprofessional, I don't want to lose my job and I won't" I say grabbing my bag and pushing my locker shut

"You touched me, in MY office. What do you mean it's unprofessional. You made the moves" he says getting dressed

"You've made moves too severide! All I'm saying is we can't do this stuff at work anymore. Biden is catching on. So is everyone else!" I say placing my sneakers in my locker and putting my boots on.

"But if your not willing to show me off in pubic why should I give you the time in private" he says pushing his hair back

"It's different flirting in public and fucking in public Kelly, why don't you get that?" I respond.

"I love you and I want to be with you. I want to be the guy that you deserve to be with, let me be that guy Jenna" he says advancing towards me

"Kelly, we are both on squad how's that going to go down with Boden?" I say putting my jacket on

"Who cares?" He simply responds.

"I care for my job kel, I'm sure you do too" I say to him

"Boden doesn't care unless we re married under the same truck. Dawson and casey got through it" he says

"But do you see how that ended up??" I say

"No not really, they are happy! Nothing is stopping them" he says

"I'm not rejecting the offer but I need to think about it" I say walking out of the locker room.

I get into my car and leave to go home

I get home and walk into my house. I get to my bedroom and place my bag down and take my boots off.

I walk into my kitchen to grab something to eat just to realize that there is no food in my fridge.

I grab my keys, put my shoes on and go to the store

....

After my shopping trip I make my way home

I get to the stop light just as I see a kid in the lake. Flailing his arms

I pull my car over and run to the lake as the kid is screaming for help.

I take off my shoes and jump in after him

I see him start to sink down.

I swim deeper to grab him.

I grab him and bring him up to the top as I look over I see first responders and the parents

A paramedic grabs the boy from my hands as a firefighter helps me up.

"Where were you at when that child fell in??" I ask the parents walking up to them

"I'm sorry we were taking a picture" the mother says

"So you didn't hear your child fall in OR scream for help" I respond

"We weren't listening" the mother says

"Your very quiet" I say looking at the father

"I-I-I'm sorry I just can't lie heather" he says to his wife

"John what are you talking about" she says looking at him  and talking thru gritted teeth

"She doesn't want him anymore. I'm sorry he almost died because of him oh my god I'm so bad, BUT YOUR WORSE" he screams in the wife's face

Police pull up soon after taking the parents to the station

"Are you okay? Do you need anything?" One of the paramedics ask.

"No I'm okay, I'm just gonna head home" I say putting my shoes on and walking back to my car

As I sit there I think about what that child looked like

Small and frail body, almost as if starves.

Eyes red almost as if had been crying for days

Bruises everywhere almost as if abused

As I look up from the steering wheel I realize I've been crying myself

"AAAH, all those goddamn things that bitch has put me and Matt through" I say slamming my hand down on the wheel

I start the car and head back home

As I get there I see kellys car in the drive way

I get out with the groceries. And walk in to see him on the couch

"So you let yourself into my house now I see?" I say walking to the kitchen with the bags

"Well you weren't here" he says helping put stuff away

"Did you notice the door locked, that usually means I don't want anyone here while I'm gone" I say as we finish putting the groceries away

"Yeah but still I'm special and you know it besides, why are you all wet" he says

"I guess your use to asking girls that?" I say chuckling

"Haha, real funny, anyway. What happened?" He asks again

"Nothing I don't want to talk about it, I'll tell you later after I eat something" I say

"Cool what are you making us?" He says sitting down

"I'm making MYSELF a sandwich" I say pulling out the bread

"Make that two sandwiches" he says smiling with his goofy smile

"Fine" I say putting together two bologna and cheese sandwiches

I give him the sandwich with some chips

"Thankyou" he say with his mouth full of bread

"No wonder the girls last only a night" I say biting into my sandwich

"Wow! Are you on your period?" He asks

"No but you make me feel like I am" I say as he finished his sandwich

"Aww I didn't know you loved your period" he says smiling

"No one loves their period" I say washing mine and his plate and going off the get into the shower to wash all of the lake water off
