/Jenna/ August 10, 2016 [Firehouse]

"This is good" Stella says eating her food me and gabby made
"Thanks" me and gabby say at the same time
"Thanks for making this, girls" Peter mills says eating his food next to Otis
"Your welcome" we say to him

We finish our food and get a call

Engine51, Truck81, squad3, ambulance61 house fire 809 west greyhound rd. Supposedly residence inside

We all rush onto th a apparatus floor ad into the turn out room

I grab my jacket and helmet and run into the squad truck

We all take off, sirens blaring and lights flashing

We arrive at the address and see kids toys everywhere telling us their May be kids inside the house

We rush out and wait for orders

"Hermann, Matthew and jenna....vent the fire" boden demands

We nod and make our way up onto the roof to vent the fire

When we do I step onto a week spot on the roof and fall through the roof alarming firemen inside the building and outside

"Get her up!" Bolden yells through the radio as Matt tries to pull me up

"My boot is caught on drywall" I yell to mouch who is inside the building

He pulls of my boot to help me up

Matt pulls me up finally and I get down to be met with Peter with my boot in his hand

"Oh gosh, thankyou" I say grabbing it

He nods and walks back into the building

"Follow me we need to go check bedrooms" severide says

I nod and follow him to bed rooms

I find a little girl under the bed with her teddy bair

I grab the girl and bring her out but on the way out she drops her bair

"My bair mr. Bair wait stop please" she pleads

"I can't babe, I'll get the bair I promise" I say to her taking her outside too finally see her crying I went to walk in as I see a little boy in severides hand unconscious he shakes his head and frowns

gabby runs up and grabs his limp body

"Lost him?" I ask severide as we run back in

"His pulse is slow I saw him in the room under his blanket" he responds

We start looking around anyone else, when we don't find anyone I run to the boys bed to find a little buzz light ear toy on the ground I put it in my jacket and walk out to find the bear, I put it in my jacket,  on the way out I hear cracking noises

"GET DOWN!" I yell to mills who is looking along with Hermann and capp

We all dive down to the Ground, as the ceiling caves in on us

I get up brushing debris off of me and I start looking around for capp Hermann and peter when I see capp stand up next to me he pulls Hermann out and I try to pull Peter out

Finally I move debris off of him and grab him out of the pile of debris 

"He is unconscious" i say to capp

"Lets get him out" he says I nod and pull him onto me and walk out of the building with him and the toys

Sylvie runs over with a stretcher and we put Peter on it

They take him to the ambulance as I walk over to the kids

"Here you guys go" i say handing them their toys

"They are a little dirty and stinky but just pop them in the washer and they will be good as new" I say ruffling the little boys hair

"Thankyou so much" the mother says to me

"Your welcome and fire damage control should be on their way to help you find a place to stay tonight" I say and she nods

"Oh and I almost forgot" I say pulling out a little box labels "mom 1945" on it and j hand it to the mother

She breaks down crying at the site of the box I was able to save for her

"Oh my god, I didn't think I'd ever see this again" she says hugging me

"Thankyou so much" she says clutching onto the box tight

"It my job" I say smiling and walking back over to the squad truck

I grab my water bottle and take a drink when gabby walks over to me with tears in her eyes

"We lost him" she says

"Who? Mills?" I say walking over to her and she nods

"Shit" I mumble looking around at everyone who has found out about mills

It's like everything goes in slow motion

I see everyone looking down as they clean up with tears in there eyes pain written all over then

It's a weird feeling to know that one of your people had died on your watch

"I should have tried harder" I say to her

"You couldn't have saved him" she says putting a hand on my shoulder

"His mask fell off and he inhaled smoke that's what killed him, he got smoke poisoning as Well as a punctured lung from the ceiling caving in" she explains

"Alright everyone clean up and head back" boden yells over the quiet crowd of first responders

"Are you alright?" Gabby asks

"Yeah I'm okay" I say turning around and start rolling up one of the hoses for the squad truck

About an hour later we are all cleaned up and fire damage control has came to take the small family to a shelter for the night

We put everything away and head back to the fire house in silence

We pull up and walk our separate ways whether that's offices, locker rooms, or showers

*a hour later*

"All first responders to the conference room for a meeting" connie says through the firehouse over the tannoy

We all make our way to the conference room in a uncomfortable silence and sit in our seats waiting for what boden needs to tell us...
