02》 parent of the year!

"How is everyone going to tell the difference between us if we are both casey?" I ask him while putting my name on a piece of tape and placing it on my locker

"I'm lieutenant Casey, your just casey" he says chuckling

"Well I use to be lieutenant Casey as Well" I say opening my locker and placing my stuff inside

"You were?" He asks

"Damn Matt I haven't told you? i guess we didnt even talk alot while I was gone, I was a lieutenant for squad down at 12 because Jamie left with a bad injury" I say sitting on the bench

"Oh wow" he says surprised

"Yup, let go cheif and everyone is probably all ready in the conference room" I say running from him

"Wait up" I hear Matt say from behind me some ways

He catches up with me and we walk in everyone except Kelly and gabbys face light up with surprise that I'm here
We take a seat next to gabby and Hermann

"Hey! What are you doing here?" Hermann whispers as cheif begins talking and taking roll call

"I moved houses now I'm here working for squad" I say he just nods and we start listening to cheif talk

"As I'm sure everyone knows there is a not so new face in the firehouse today, everyone please welcome squad candidate Jennifer casey" boden says and everyone starts clapping

"Thanks everyone" I say and start blushing

"Welcome to firehouse 51, I'm sure everyone will treat you as we treat eachother" he says from the front of the room

Everyone is dismissed from the conference room we all go to the common were all the newer firefighters I haven't yet met introduce themselves.

We all sit down at the table enjoying breakfast when the tannoy goes off alerting everyone to stop and listen...

Squad 3,ambulance 61 water rescue, Michigan memorial park

"Thats us" Kelly says patting my leg and making his way to the apparatus floor with the rest of us

"Be safe" I hear Matt shout as I get into the truck

"Always" I shout back...

We arrive at the scene to see a woman and man standing down by the pond trying to help the child out of the water

"Stand back Chicago fire department, what happened?" Kelly says after he gets his diving gear on

"Are son he has autism, and he went into the water and hasn't came back up, please help him" the mother says grabbing onto Kelly

"Ma'am when did he get into the water?" Kelly asks

She just shakes her head and cries, not answering the question Kelly asks as we hook Kelly's harness onto him

"When did he go into the water?" Kelly asks again a little more impatient

"I had too" she start breaking down and completely sodding and falls to the ground

"Go ahead lieutenant I'll ask her questions" I say he just nods and jumps into the water after hooking up his breathing apparatus to his mouth

"Had to do what honey?" The man asks looking scared

"Throw him in, babe he was a pain in my ass all of the time" she says crying

I look to capp who just lookers at her crazy, just then she starts seizing

Grabby and Sylvie rush over to stop the seizure just as I hear Kelly calling for me

I turn around and seeing him have a unconscious boy in his hands about 5 years old

I grab him and hold him close to me trying to get him warm

"He's got hypothermia, let's get him into the ambulance and warmed up real quick" I say to Cruz and run him to the second ambulance that has been dispatched to our location

Chout and borelli run up to us taking the boy from me and rushing him to the ambulance and start trying to revive him

I walk back over to the mom whom was being questioned by police from when someone called the police about her saying she threw her kid in

I just shake my dead in disbelief as I walk over to severide

"Its disgusting what people should do to stop there children from doing something they don't approve of" I say putting on my jacket because it was getting cold

"Yeah hopefully the police find out everything they need to know and take care of everything before her child is put in more danger" he replys while drying his hair

I just nod and walk back over to the ambulance to check on the boy

"Borelli, how's he doing?" I ask concerned

"His pulse is weak, we got him breathing again and wd are Go in to head to med, I think it's safe to say he won't have black tag"

"Thats good, keep 51 updated we'd love to know further information" I say he nods and gets into the back of the ambulance as Chout shuts the doors and gets into the driver seat and takes off to med

"Alright everyone lets clean up" Kelly shouts to everyone

We all nods and start cleaning up the scene as fire police show up to take statements from witnesses and the parents

We finish cleaning up and make our way back to the fire truck and head back to the firehouse

We arrive back and take off our gear and head to the locker rooms

"How was the call?" I hear Matt say from behind me

"A kid was pushes into the pond by his mother because he was a 'pain in her ass'..." I say with air quotes

"Is the kid okay?" Matt asked concerningly

"Yeah borelli said he won't have a black tag so police are questioning the mothers actions, a police officer told me her custody date is pending if she pleads guilty in court, he said she can serve up to 30 year in prison for her actions today" I say

"Why did you need to know about the court date? Are you going to it?" Matt asks

"Yes I want to make sure that kid is gojng some were safe just because he has a medical condition doesn't mean he isn't human" I say putting my hands on my hips

"What do you mean?" Matt asks

"Nothing never mind" I say chuckling just as another call comes in...
