Luke hated having to wait.

It wasn't the waiting that killed him, it was the idea that you were expected to do something while you waited. At this point, there was nothing worse than having to wait on a joystick to be free while the rest of boys were having Mario Kart grand prix battles.

"MOVING YOUR CONTROLLER WON'T HELP YOU TURN, MIKE." Calum was barely ahead of both Michael and Ashton, but they were quickly catching up.

"WE'LL SEE WHEN YOU'RE KISSING MY ASS AFTER THIS BLUE SHELL."

About 3 seconds later, the 3 boys laughed while Calum groaned, having quickly fallen into 6th place behind Bowser. No one gets behind Bowser unless you were in real trouble. At least he was in front of Wario, so it wasn't completely demoralizing. Calum flipped them off while his car slowly started rolling again.

Luke was about to make a comment when his phone started ringing. He walked over to the kitchen to answer it. At first, he thought it was his mom, until he saw the Caller I.D.

"Hey." Luke heard her sniffle and wondered if she was sick or actually crying.

"What's up?" He opened Michael's fridge, having to bend down to see what was in there.

"Nothing really. I just needed someone to talk to." She sniffled again.

"Isn't that how we got here in the first place?" He chuckled, thinking about the first time they talked to each other.

"I guess so." She laughed lightly, which was a relief to Luke, and then sniffled once more.

"Are you crying?" Luke asked while grabbing a beer from the the back of the fridge. He was probably going to get yelled at when Michael found out he took the last one, but it wasn't a big deal.

"Yeah." She chuckled again before taking a shaky breath. "I'm pretty sure I was just broken up with, but not conventionally."

Luke was pretty confused. How do you not know if someone broke up with you? Isn't that a pretty solid thing? It basically ended with "Hey, you and me ain't the ones to be."

"I mean he more or less told me 'I liked hanging out with you but your mom is prettier than you. Can you set me up?' And I didn't know what to say so he told me to have her call him later. What was I supposed to say?" Luke couldn't help but laugh.

"Is it really that bad?" Anna was chulcking lightly.

"No! I mean... Yes, but that's really meesed up."

"If only my name was Stacy, then I could say my mom's got it going on."

"Hey, you should like egg his house or something. That's what I would do if someone hit on my mom."

"Right because a girl will break up with you to go hit on your mom. I would think you could see that type of crazy coming." She didn't sniffle this time and she sounded a bit more upbeat.

"Well I'm just saying, it may not be my best plan but it's pretty Egg-ceptional. I'll even help you, if you want." Luke thought that she would say no. He had offered it on an impulsive decision, but the more he thought about it, the more he wanted to do it.

"Okay."

"What?" Luke almost chocked on the beer he was in the middle of swallowing.

"I said, okay. I mean you hatched the plan. You can't chicken out now."
