Chapter 3: Silly string

    We all started to run to our designated areas. While we were running with our shopping carts, Calum started to run like a penguin. Michael started to do the same thing and then everyone joined in. We all spilt up and went to the aisles. Michael was in the aisle across from me. I started to grab some canned soups and junk food that probably won’t expire. I started to feel like someone was staring at me. I look over and saw Michael staring at me. He quickly looked down.

    “Alice, can you get tomato sauce, cheese strings, flour and yeast?” Michael asked without looking at me.

    “Um… that’s a weird request but sure.” I said in a confused tone.  I searched for the ingredients Michael asked to get. I grabbed them all and put it in a shopping cart.

   “Are you ready to go, Michael?” I asked with walking up to him.

  “Yup, I just need Advil.” He said while looking for it.

    I started to help him look for it. I finally spotted it. I reached out for it. Michael didn’t see my hand so he reached out for it too and then our hands bumped into each other. I felt butterflies in my stomach. Do I like him?

    “Oh… um… I’m sorry.” I said awkwardly.

   “No I’m sorry.” Michael said taking the Advil and throwing into his cart. 

    I put my hands back on the cold handle of my cart and I started to walk. Michael was behind me. He walked faster and caught up to me.

    “Do you like video games?” Michael said trying to break the silence.

      “Yeah, who doesn’t?” I said. “Ashton doesn’t… so, what games do you like?” Michael said excitedly.

     “Call of duty, halo, and any other war games. What about you?” I said excitedly.

      “I like those games too!” he shouted back while smiling.

                                           Michaels P.O.V.  

             She looks so perfect. When our hands bumped into each other, I felt something. I got the same feeling I do when the pizza man comes. I think I have a crush.

     “So what’s your favourite food?” Alice asked.

    “I love pizza so much!” I shouted.

    “No way I like pizza too!” she said.

     I heard someone walking behind Alice and me. I turned around to see Luke, with silly string.

     “AMBUSH!” he shouted while spraying us.

     Alice and I let go of our carts and started to run.

       Alice started to look for silly string while I looked out for Luke. While I was looking around I saw a penguin stuffed animal on a shelf. I grabbed it and ran back to Alice. We saw Luke running towards us. Alice gave me a can of silly string. I quickly pointed the silly string at the penguins head.

      “IF YOU TAKE ONE MORE STEP LUKE, THE PENGUIN GETS IT!” I shouted. Luke stopped moving.

      “PLEASE, ANYTHING BUT THE PENGUIN!” Luke shouted back at me. Alice couldn’t stop laughing.

     “DROP YOUR WEAPON!” I shouted.

     Luke dropped his can and Alice ran to pick it up. I walked to Luke and gave him the penguin. Luke turned around and started to walk. I quickly started to spray him. He quickly fell down and grabbed his long legs. Alice ran up and started to spray. Alice and I quickly threw the silly string cans and ran back to our carts.

      “Well that was fun.” She said and we all started to laugh.

                                                 Alice’s P.O.V

         We started to walk back and finally we meet everyone. I peaked in Calum’s cart. Inside were acoustic guitars, a cajón random CDs and a stereo.

     “Why do you have guitars and a cajón in your cart?” I asked Calum. He never answered me he just smirked.

      “Everyone bring their cart outside so we can load up the car.’ Ashton commanded. We all walk out to a random car.

      “How are we going to open it and start it?” I asked.

     “Calum is going to hotwire it and we break the window.’ Luke said.

    “I can pick locks.” I said. Calum moved away from the door and gestured me to go to it. I walked to the door and took the bobby pins out of my hair. I started to pick the car lock and then I heard a click. I opened the door and press the unlock button to unlock the rest of the car.

          We all got into the car. Calum started to hotwire it. Michael, Ashton and I were at the back of the car. About a minute of being of in the car, Michael wrapped his arm around me. I started to blush. I would have pushed his arm off but I started to have a crush on him.

          “What the heck is kiwi?”  I whispered into his ear.

          “I think it’s in Asia.” Michael said while giggling a bit.

         “Okay first thing I’m NOT Asian and second thing Kiwi is in New Zealand!” Calum said harshly. There was an awkward silence, and then suddenly everyone started laughing.

       We pulled over somewhere. I had no clue where we were. We all hopped out of the car and got the stuff we snatched from Wal-Mart. Michael grabbed my hand and pulled me into a brown building. It sort of looked like a school.

   “Where are we and why are we here?” I asked

    “This is my old school and we are going to sleep here tonight before we continue our journey.” Michael answered.

“Where are we going tomorrow?” I asked.

 “I don’t know.” He replied.
