Weeks had passed since Sage and Carter discovered Raven's betrayal, and Arrow had joined the pack. Carter had been gone for days now, with a few warriors to get Ren back from Krater and the beta had been left in charge. Sage had spent most of her time in the alpha's den, caring for Gabe, who now called her sissy. The pup had grown beautifully and now Sage was the size of a fully grown wolf. She was stunning in her color and slender but had a muscular body. Many males have tried getting to know Sage personally but she always turned them away. The ginger female had been spending much of her time practicing her powers with her brother, all in secret, and now Sage could understand the raging stormy flames that burned within her. Inside the alpha's den, Gabe's soft snores echoed in the dark space, the night air was cool and breezy outside and Sage felt a pull for her to watch the stars, so when she stood she was careful not to wake the pup that was curled up to her belly. The night air welcomed her as she moved into the camp and towards the meadow, the silhouettes of flowers on the tree gave a peaceful feeling and the air was gentle. A breeze ruffled Sage's thick pelt, her blue eyes looking up to the sky, reflecting the shining stars. She pulled her paws under her and laid down, her head falling on her paws, and her eyes closing as she listened to the sounds of the night, the wind seemed to sing a lullaby through the branches. Soon the sound sent the female into a deep sleep, her breathing steadying and matching the dancing blossoms and leaves.

The scent of cherries filled Sage's nose as her eyes opened and welcomed blinding light. Lifting her head, she looked to the flowers that had fallen around her and the small cherries that surrounded her. A soft chuckle filled the air before her, startling the ginger shewolf to look up, her blue eyes meeting the gaze of a white male wolf. Carter. Sage stood quickly and smiled at him, her tail wagging behind her to show how she had missed him.
"Your back!" Sage felt joy ripple through her chest and over her spine. When Carter came further into view, she noticed he held a branch covered in flowers in his mouth. His gaze was intense but gentle and kind, the blue of his eyes like ice. He didn't smile or wag his tail as he moved closer to her, he simply placed the branch behind her ear, the flowers poking out over her head. Placing his neck over hers, he pulled her into an embrace, his tassel now starting to wag softly behind him. A spark rose inside of Sage and she felt it warm up the branch, the flowers catching flame but yet, they didn't burn. Carter pulled back and pressed his nose to hers as the flowers were unguided in the fire.
"My flower in the flames. I'm sorry I was away for so long but I promise I will make up for it. Soon I will choose a mate, my alpha female." Carters voice was like a soothing spell over her, shivers running down her spine at the thought of being his mate. "But for now, would you lay with me in the flowers and watch the clouds?"
Sage was at a loss for words so all she could do was nod, her tail starting to fan the ground under her, and dust rising up around them. The alpha male smiled and walked alongside her as they headed deeper into the meadow, laying in the tall grass and watching the clouds makes shapes in the sunny sky. Sage felt a lump forming in her throat as she cuddled up to the male, her heart felt at peace for once since the destruction of her home. The flower fell from her ear and the flames left it as Carter and her playfully wrestled in the grass, her teeth nipping at his neck and his paws hitting at her side. Soon the wrestling turned into a gentle game of chase, Sage dodging him and leaping over him in shows of laughter, her inner pup shining through. Carter's deep laugh echoed among the field, his tail raised in excitement before tackling her to the ground and pinning her gently, a blush filling his white face as Sage moved to lick his cheek. Want filled both of their blue eyes, before Carter moved to groom Sage. The day was easy for them at this moment, joy and need filling through chest as they moved further away from the pack and deeper into the tall grass of the meadow.
